I really love the african webcam, esp. the birds/bugs' sounds.

yesterday, there was this creature and I don't know what it was....during the day, the camera zoomed in on it and it was eating grass. the noises were hilarious, I think it was snorting. It looked like a cross between a rhino and a pig.

I'm disappointed when it's down, which is often now.

I think rhinos need alot of water, that hole may be too shallow for a rhino.

I saw a special on a guy who survived a rhino attack in africa. There is a place for ppl to ride on a boat to see the rhinos. Well I'm surprised the place is still open....I believe 1 person per month is killed. The rhinos turn the boat over and try to eat you.

do you see the back of a tan animal? I wonder if it was attacked. I see a big reddish thing near the tail. It keeps wiggling its ears and tail.

They sure are. The one has been standing in the same position for the past 10 minutes. I would love to know what the hell it's thinking about...

Its probably thinking what the hell am i doing here.

In fact i dont think they think about much other than eating and sleeping. maybe if we saw a lion coming on the scene he'd have something to think about.

I just wanted to thank you again for the link! My 6 year old nephew has really gotten in to this website. Turns out he was just learning about animals in africa @ school, so I got some major "cool aunt" points for showing him the website!

My sister is thrilled too, my nephew has seen quite a few animals over the weekend, and loves to then look them up and learn more about them online. :)

    Deffinately a great find!

yup definitely an owl... those are some freaky sounding frogs... i wonder what the owl's doing next to the waterhole... perhaps waiting for a small rodent to take his midnight bath?
  • smarcheesmarchee Posts: 14,539
that owl definitly seems to be taking in all the sounds, he looks like he is up to no good, if only they'd focus on his eye, I'd bet they'd be all shifty-like :D

It's my favorite time of day! I can't stop watching this....it's always open and minimized so I can hear the birds and such. I have my sister addicted to this as well. She loves elephants so she's really anticipating seeing some on there!! She's got it open all day at her office!! Haha!! It's addicting! :D
