Nothing wrong with smoking  :p

He always comes across as being quite down to earth.

sorry for the implication, but I am a bit of a clean mouth freak.........I brush my teeth every time I eat and I even brush between. so, messed up mouth stuff, i.e,. smoke, food, morning breath,........not a turn on.

  • got blown off by Sean Penn when I was 11... he was an ignorant prick  great actor but complete bollox... to an 11 year old. It's not that I even said anything or annoyed him... even Robin Wright looked annoyed at him when he just ignored me completely and walked off... she was looking back at me and trying to draw his attention but nooooooooooooo! Yep, I'm still bitter!

I've met several Irish celebs... had drinks with Albert Finney and Milo O'Shea too... they were really really nice and funny!

You drank with Daddy Warbucks? Sweeeet !!! I saw Annie 100X when I was a kid...I still know all the songs :)

  • I suppose, 11 is too early...even by Irish standards (which are very similar to Maritime standards ;) heehee). I don't think I have met anyone famous other than who STB has said...besides some Canadian bands like Sam Roberts and Blue Rodeo (exciting for me).

  • Even though I've met all sorts cool and interesting celebrities at work, outside of that I did once get hit on by Ashy Larry (well, the actor that plays him) from Chapelle's Show. No picture, but I did get an autograph.

Lot's of cool stories in this thread, thanks for sharing.

I was walking casually around in a record shop with my friends shopping for CD's while waiting for a G3 concert to start. While checking out a book on the history of Led Zeppelin(which coincidently is his favourite band), in walks Joe Satriani with his wife and kid. I couldnt believe it, my idol, the greatest musician in the world just walks in.

I hurry up and tell my friends who just walked in while pointing in his general direction, they tell me to shut up and try to tell me it's not him. I refuse to waste any time listening to them and hurry up and buy Satchs' new record (which was 'Is there love in space' at the time, although I already bought it), I grab a pen from the counter and run over to him to get it signed. I tried to start a conversation with him, but I totally froze up and forgot everything I knew about talking English, and the conversation ended fairly quick.

Anyway, I went over to my friends to show my newly signed CD. They didn't stand still for very long. Before I knew it, they were on their way to get their newly bought CD's signed too.

    No pictures though :\

I more see "celebrities" then actually meet them. I did get to meet and speak to Phil Donohue and Ellen Spiro at TIFF last year and told them how amazing I thought Body of War was. I also told Ellen about Eddie plugging the film at Lolla etc. I got Phil's autograph on my ticket stub. At the premiere, I'm not entirely sure I'd say I "met" Eddie, but I was certainly standing right in front of him (along with many others) as he was about to head down the street to get dinner... he made sure to make eye contact with everyone, which was awesome :D I met Jeff, Mike and Jack in '95 in Sydney, I have pics of Jeff, but I'd have to scan them.

I've met Hugh Jackman several times, he's a sweetheart. Guy Pearce way back in his Neighbours days at the Royal Easter Show in '86. I've met lots of other Aussie celebs, bands etc that most people wouldn't know. Case in point, my sister emailed me a few hours ago to tell me she just met Jon Stevens in Macau, I wrote back and told her I hated her... he's awesome... still.

I walked past Gabriel Byrne Thursday night, I was pretty excited about that. I love Gabriel Byrne :)

You know, I might sound like a gigantic geek/nerd/loser, but he's #1 on my list of "who I want to meet". I have no clue what I'd say, but it would be cool to meet him. I know someone who works for Hillary... I think I need to work that angle (although there may be a few other more important things going on right now).

I've met more people than I can remember (I work in the entertainment industry..and no, not porn.) The coolest was working at a festival in Finland last summer and Patti Smith was there. She went to my high school (a long time before me) and I love her music. I was terrified to say anything, so the band I was working with sort of pushed me over to her. I introduced myself, said I was a fan and that we went to the same high school. She started singing our alma mater, so I just joined in! It was incredibly surreal. She told me she was Spartan of the Year 1964 (our equivalent of student of the year). Her whole band and the band I was with thought it was absolutely crazy that in the middle of Finland, here were two strangers with 40 years between them singing their high school alma mater. Turns out most of her band is from Jersey too, but the northern part. She was an absolute sweetheart too!

You have to scroll down the page a little, there are a few photos down there :)

The hotel I stay at in LA also has a huge celebrity clientele, so I'm always passing random folks. Mostly rockers.

i've met plenty of people...mostly musicians that i chat up after shows.

my favorite still has to be jack johnson after his show in raleigh in 2002. i waited outside in the cold for about an hour before he came out and talked to every single person that was out there. i just thanked him...and then asked him when he was coming back to florida, to which he laughed! he did remember me from the show that night...which made me quite happy :) then i took the best picture of my life...http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.editAlbumPhoto&albumID=1971524&imageID=1998720&MyToken=a3133d37-5060-4ed4-b544-8e2f4158551d

matt costa was also really awesome...great shows in both orlando and tampa. i had a bit too much to drink at the orlando show and decided to talk to matt after the show. i asked if i could sing on stage with him at the tampa show...to which he agreed :D he brought me and my friend up on stage to sing on the last song...which totally made my night!! the most fun ever that night...we ended up drinking with the band that night. too much fun!
