The list of the many varied things I do which got me out of the corporate world...
Home school mom; P/T Manager at a natural foods store; owner of an online cloth diapering biz where I write an email newsletter (soon to be expanding) and sell tie-dye too; starting another website next year to further my life goal of getting rid of plastic bags (go OZ!); writer of various things - whatever plays in the movie theater of my mind - recently published with another article due out next year.

In the corporate world, several lifetimes ago, I did compliance and paralegal work for investment companies and a tire biz! Also worked for a hotel in San Francisco in the sales office and meet some fascinating people.

In college I was a DJ - played some PJ and a lot of Primus - and they still let me take home a degree.

Am I doing what I set out to do? Yes
Am I using my degree? Oh yeah!
Do I love what I'm doing? Hell yeah!

Software Engineer - producing localized (foreign language) versions of certain products. But going back to school - hoping to be a teacher some day.

The husband just retired from 30+ years of construction - crane operating.

But nothing compares to the 13 years I got to spend raising kids at home before life necessitated that I get a paycheck...

    holy hell....

we have some damn cool PJ fans in here :)

Im an Operations and Retail Manager at the Hard Rock Cafe in Surfers Paradise Australia.

I get to work with amazing people, have music blaring the entire time...and really get to do things ordinary run of the mill restaurant/ hospitality staff dont get to do.
We sing, we dance, we make arses of ourselves every day!
We have the freedom to be individual and ourselves, and Hard Rock had always been this way.

    I love my job :D:D

Been doing it for 15 years and it is actually the place I was introduced to Pearl Jam. When I was doing my intership one of the cooks always had 10 playing on the cd player in the prep kitchen.

I'm in the music industry. I work as an assistant to someone who produces material for someone that everyone has heard of- which means sometimes I get to do really cool stuff and sometimes I have to go to Target to buy tampons for girlfriends.
I'm also a writer, and I publish a column in a medium-size syndicated newspaper. I just got an agent and am shopping around for a publisher right now. That should only take 10 years :)

Sometimes I'm busy as hell for 10 months in a row with no day off and then sometimes I have time to hang out on 6 different message boards.

Before this I worked as a financial advisor.

Thats a great combination....music, writing and finance!
