maybe you're right, I just thought that sometimes heartbreak is worse then being sick at times...

I would hate to have never loved but there have been many times when love has hurt like fuck and I wished that I had never felt that way in the first place...

so my answer is, impossible situation. To quote Ryan Adams, Love is Hell. It's just a hell that you have to bear.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

We learn from love....and its never really love unless it hurts.
I would definitely agree that its better to have loved and lost, for even though pain is devestatingly difficult to live through, its an amotion that we are all programed to feel, therefore teaching us life lessons along the way.

  • yes. it is better to have loved and lost.

if you dont have love, it doesnt mean you'll be without pain, loss, heartache, fear, dissapointment, aggravation, or hurt. it just means you'll have all those without love to balance it.

however, it is not better to have love and lost if that person gave you the clap.

  • love problems?
  • not if you are not loved in return.

tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all...that implies that YOU are doing both the loving and the losing.

so, with that in mind - no. I would rather not have loved at all if, even tho I have loved, I was not loved in return. adding salt to the wound is the fact that my love was not enough to not have lost in the end.

so now i have loved, not been loved back, and then lost that one-sided love.

nope. I would rather be loved, than to love.
I like to keep in mind another sage's advice: if you can't have the one you love...honey. love the one you're with (I add this part) but make sure that they love you more, and they know how to take out the fucking garbage...I mean, really how fucking difficult is this??

    :D;)

Yes. Plain and simple. Yes. That now fulfills my quota to answer at least one out of every 1000 questions seriously. I will now resume my love for weebles. You know they wobble, right?

You know, these are the things you learn in relationships.. Those weebles, as much as you try.. they are so hard to win over.. in the end you only end up heartbroken. As some might say, "its better to have loved and lost than to have never loved"

    :)

Thanks Mookie - you totally proved my point from above...now if those selfish bastard Weebles were to love you more than you loved THEM, they would fall down...oh yeah...fall down all night long....oh you like that don't you weeble?? what? of course you do. ;)

I'm ok. I've moved on from weebles. I do miss them from time to time, but am now content with Gumby. If only I could bend like that!!! Never leave the house I tell ya!!!

in my experience, i'd say yes.... but i am sure there are people who would rather have never loved than lost.... i think it just depends on the circumstances behind the love and loss.

yeah, i agree. i think that if you loved someone and then they divorced you and took all your money, then you would rather have never loved. but then again, I loved a girl in college for 3 years and then we broke up, and i haven't really thought about her since :o i don't know what i'm trying to say actually :D
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

    this post is illogical.

how can you have pain without love? for something to pain us there should be something there to hurt us in the first place.

for all of you how are going to say that there can be such thing called it's unrequited love then sorry i don't believe in unrequited love. if someone doesn't love me then i don't allow myself to fall in love.

but you are right in saying those people will still be hurt and feel pain and dissapointment........and this is because they had something, maybe not love but close to it. but their hurt will not be as strong as those that loved and been loved by someone.

hehe, this is funny :D:) you loved this girl but then after you split up you forgot about her. it's like saying ok so this pen doesn't work, so let me throw this one away and get the next one :D

Absolutely true! In my experiences I've learned so much from every relationship... each one has made me stronger and better equipped to face the next one so every one has been better than the last. In time the pain goes and you can remember the great times you had. Being heartbroken usually implies that you want what you had... cos it was better than not having it. In time you accept that you no longer have it but, if you're heartbroken, you still want it back.
