That's true. By the time I wake up tomorrow this thread will be 18 pages long 16 of them will be Helen's responses."The leads are weak!"

mookie9999 wrote:Who does it?? Yes another tipping thread. My company is having a party next week at some nightclub here in the city. Having been a waiter and a bartender at events with an open bar I know that people usually don't tip (as it is included in the booking along with the fact that people are cheap bastards!!!). I always tip at an open bar. I figure I'm not paying for the drinks or a cover to get in plus the owner of the club in more than likely a thieving bastard that won't give a fair share to the staff anyways so I tip away. Anyone else??
I will say that at my job's holiday party there was an open bar but it was in a hotel ball room and I got a soda (I had to work that night!) so I did not tip for the soda, but in that night club type of setting I would probably tip."...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

of course booze involved0

I rarely drink, since I usually am the one driving, so it always kills me to see an open bar, and only have a beer/glass of wine or 2.0

start with 5$ then usually a dollar a drink then if they were good an extra 5.....which usually amounts to $20 tip all in allIf a man speaks in a forest and there is no woman around to hear him, is he still wrong?0

Dunk just called to say a free drink is a free drink for fook's sake.
Tip my ass.
I then asked him if he ever tipped the guy in the bathroom for handing him a towel to wipe his hands....
I heard this in the background...

absolutely - better drinks result!
on that note - I try to order directly from the bartender anytime I'm at a club - tip them well and be rewarded!

Confession:
I use to tip more often when I was younger.
Now that I am older, I don't tip as often because I value my dollars more. I follow these rules:
1) If dinning with a waitress/waiter - 20 percent (This is part of their salary)
2) If delivery - 20 percent (Part of their salary)
3) At a bar - 1 dollar per 2 drinks or 20 percent if you tab (part of their salary)
4) Open bar - Your lucky if I give you a dollar per drink. Unless they serve it with a smile and have good customer service. Then I dont mind tipping more.
(They are already paid well. If not, get a better job then)
Otherwise, forget tipping anything else.
1) No to barbers (I already paid you good money)
2) No to tip jars when I pick up a pizza/food (I did all the work)
3) No to tipping the mail man or garbage man (I have crappy service here, otherwise I would tip them if they actually talked to me or didnt do a half ass job)
4) No to tipping movers. I already paid a good price to move. I never got tipped when I was a mover. Now I ever asked for a tip or expected one.0
