they preach transparency from our government, and yet they fail to disclose f*%king ticket prices, and never give reason as to why they ignore die hards in the south. And because their lead singer has finally given into the temptations of fame by dating models and developing an emerging superiority complex.
their music made me get into much different types of rock music i never listened to before, and yet in the end, i always go back to pearl jam. No other band does it for me like PJ.
Seen it happen to a couple of friends...
See it happen and the message it sends...
Taking off for what's an obvious fall...
Just to see what all the fuss is about...

At the age of 12, I was told, at the same time, that my stepfather was not my real father, and that my real dad had just died in a car wreck. I was told this by my mother and step father while in the parking lot of a Mcdonalds, eating an ice cream cone; very matter-of-factly, very cold, an awful lot like, "Sorry you didn't see him, but I'm glad we talked". I was abused VERY badly by my stepfather from the age of 4 until the age of 16. He used to hold my face into the mattress of my bed until I would almost pass out;
"I couldn't breathe/ Holding me down/ Hand on my face/ Pushed to the ground"
This is in addition to the daily beatings and frequent hospital visits where it was always the same sorry, "I fell down the steps again". I'm sure the docs thought I was the most accident proned kid in the world, but they probably knew better;
"I guess it was the beatings made me wise"
After my real father died, I used to try to talk to him at night time. I had never even seen a picture of him, but I used to imagine an older version of myself. At a later age (Probably 16 or so) I saw a picture of my father taken not long before his death. The resemblance is eerie. I am also told, even at the age of 31 now, how much I remind the family of him.
"I am myself/ Like you somehow"
I not only love the music for its sound, I FEEL every lyric, every guitar note, every bass nuance, every cymbal crash. The music has spoken to me on such a deep level for so many years, I feel the only way I could ever repay the guys for the years of musical therapy is to support them by attending every concert I can, buying every album, single, and DVD, and trying to bring friends into the jamily. I am not the kind of fan the stands out to watch the buses pull into a venue trying to catch a glimpse of these "Rock Gods", but if they ever do read these posts or if the moderators keep them abreast of the goings on here, please give them a simple "Thanks" from a guy who may have headed down a different path without their music to keep him company.
They make me feel like I'm part of something bigger.
They've been with me since I was 19, through all the crappy times and through all the really good times. I'm 35 now and their music continues to speak to me.
I can throw Ten on and still rock out like I'm in college.
The fan club extras.
Ed is a beautiful man, inside and out. (those eyes, sigh...)
I guess it all comes down to the music, though. The way that Eddie's lyrics and voice so completely mesh with the rest of the guys' instruments - it really makes them the best.
Dante: "You hate people!"
Randal: "But I love gatherings. Isn't it ironic?"
Faithful I love all the little hums and yelps and from mark :42-1:47 his voice is in perfect harmony with the guitar and the drumming. The slight moans at 1:53-2:18, echoes, it goes it goes
Yep I just had a moment.
I, too, am an Ed moan lover...also the "hi-yah's in Education are really sweet!
"The answers are fatal..."
"My lips are shakin'....
"And Love,...Wish the world would go again with Love
One can't seem to have enough."
