this game is on the NHL Network. I have the HD NHL Network channel on and it's not in HD. This is almost as annoying as the pronger news.
I'm grabbing a beer0 -
NHL network just said that pronger is on flyers books for 5 more years. Ouch0
-
Pannacio uttered the terms, Chris Pronger, sever-post-concussion syndrome, and.....Keith Primeau. Yep, so there's that...0

This is devastating news and I hope Prongs is ok in the long term. But I'm far from ready to give up on the season.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

An LTI can be covered by replacement players, as long as the replacement salaries do not exceed the salary of the injured player.
If the replacement salaries would push a team over the salary cap, the team is allowed cap relief, but only for the portion of the salary that exceeds the cap. When the injured player returns, the team must immediately comply with the normal terms of the salary cap.

Not sure how prongers deal impacts anything....since there are some special rules with older players and when they sign
If this is true, not as big a deal.....
I wouldn't trade bob unless you can get a top 4 level d man. I'm ok with bourdon as part of the reg 6 this year and going forward as long as he keeps pkaying like he is.81 is now off the air0 -

Do you mean he gets paid if he retires? Or that the NHL would consider any payment after retirement against the cap?0 -
Nearly a month after signing, the NHL announced they had launched an investigation on Pronger's deal to determine whether it was a circumvention of the salary cap under the collective bargaining agreement. Because the contract is front-loaded, with annual salaries of just $525,000 in the final two years, and expires by the time Pronger is 42, the investigation was launched with the focus on the potential of negotiations between Pronger and the Flyers to retire before contract expiration.[19] However, as Pronger's contract took effect after his 35th birthday, under the terms of the current collective bargaining agreement, his over-35 contract cannot be deleted from the Flyers' cap space unless he is placed on long-term injured reserve, and even then it would come back on the team's cap space during the offseason.
Okay, so they would somehow have to put him on LTI every season?0 -
Glad they got the goal back but I'm so sick of goalies being sprawled on the friggin ice.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

yeah, seriously.
I know the flyers have had guys in the past that have retired due to injury (rathje, laperriere, hatcher, primeau). pretty sure they got cap relief in each of those scenarios. Not sure if the rules have changed though.
I'm not going to give up on the season, but this changes expectations. before this news they were one of east conf faves and potential cup winners...not sure you can say that now0 -

Flyers lead the league with 20 ROWs. Next closest is Boston with 17.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Don't know how they won with the way he was playing. Flyers own Price.Flyers can score...that's the only reason they won.
To be fair, Bob did a nice job on the full 2 minute 5-3 portion of the game. and also to be fair, i think it was the 3rd goal for the habs, bob should never have been put in that position....Flyers had the puck behind the net, no mtrl player around, 3 flyers players, and the guy with the puck (i didn't catch who it was) just chucks it up the boards to nobody. mtrl gets it, and they are able to walk it right to the front of the net. seems like every time the Flyers make a boneheaded play like that, it ends up in the back of the net.
maybe the one that bounced around his pad and sat right at the post was a little soft, but i guess, overall, bob didn't too horrible. i just wish he would stand up a little more in net81 is now off the air0
