I saw that shit. Sports media loves to blow the Red Wings.
    Yeah it's ridiculous

    3 Dman and JVR

GIROUX was a game time decision with his right hand that's why
Hartsy was taking all the draws

And for the record if a Flyer threw that hit last night it's being
    called a penalty

that would have been a bad call then.

it was a legal hit. you can argue it clean or dirty, but there is no arguement about legality. if the league rules otherwise, i'll eat my crow.

    I agree

But you can't tell me if Hartnell or Rinaldo throws that hit
they're not going to the box

    There you have it...

@TSNBobMcKenzie: No suppl disc for Kronwall on Voracek. PPOC was head but deemed full body on body hit. Not a hit NHL believes should be out of the game.

They simply are not serious about reducing concussions. It's not going to get any better any time soon.

unless you elimante all hitting and go full on powder puff, you are going to have legal hits that result in injuries.

I think they're serious about reducing concussions...hard hits are gonna
    happen with your head down

The head hunting shots is what the league is focusing on

Blatant elbows, leaving your feet stuff like that

My main beef is the double standard in the league

Kronwall does it and its fine Rinaldo would have been penalized

He had every intention of hitting him on the head - if you don't get rid of those hits you'll never slow down concussions.

93 had his head down leaning forward....can't fault 55 for checking him. like i said before, it was a legal hit which has been confirmed legal by the leauge. now if you want to argue dirty...that's anouther story..

teh detroit broadcast played half a dozen of that dude's hits in the 3rd period....dude blows people up. he's the guy that got Claude in the last game.

players HAVE to keep their heads up if they want to avoid those types of hits.

Legal but dirty. Just like Chara's hit last year v. the Canadiens. Chara new exactly where he was on the ice when he checked that guy into the glass partition.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but there was no doubting in Jakub Voracek’s mind how he felt about the hit he took Tuesday night against Detroit’s Niklas Kronwall.

“The hit was clean,” said the Flyers’ winger, who remains questionable for Thursday’s game against Florida under a concussion watch.

The NHL obviously concurred on the hit being clean, as it did not fine or suspend Kronwall.

Replays show Voracek had his head down and turned right into Kronwall’s shoulder.

“I had my head down,” he said. “I’ve got to be aware that Kronwall is standing there at the blue line. It was the end of my shift and I look up and he’s standing at the blue line and I’m focusing on the puck and he’s very good at it.

“I was kind of naïve to think he was going to back up, obviously. It was a tough hit to take, but it was a clean hit and from my side, it was my bad. Those hits should stay in the game.”

Asked how he was feeling, Voracek replied, “Not bad.”

“From what I saw last night, it was a pretty tough hit to take,” he said. “I survived it pretty good. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.”

Voracek passed an initial SCAT concussion test Tuesday night, general manager Paul Holmgren said, but he must be re-evaluated and take a baseline test to play against the Panthers.

“We’ll see what happens tomorrow,” Voracek said. “It can change every day. I don’t want to say I feel too good. Like I said, every day is different. Hopefully, I can get back as soon as possible.”

    Sad and true

The hit last night might have been the hardest hit since that stevens knock out hit

And for the record if a Flyer threw that hit last night it's being
    called a penalty
Rinaldo got suspended for that exact same hit in the last game against Detroit.
It really is ridiculous, but not the least bit surprising. This is the NHLOL after all.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

Rinaldo did leave his feet but i dont think he made contact with the head it was more shoulder to chest

He's not exactly a tall guy so it would make sense

But I do agree there is a total double standard and guys are "labeled"
