  • i guess my original question should have been, would any woman be likely to want to marry a 32-33 year old who has had aesthetic surgery. i know very few indian girls would.

Well it's happened before. You're not the only one whose had surgery, has burn scars and has a partner.

but if thinks work out well for me, i should be in australia by 30-31.

You've got absolutely nothing to worry about my friend. There's nothing to rush into. Like you said, you've got other things to worry about right now as far as getting a career, possibly relocating. Just continue to live life. Do things you've always wanted to do first. Make it all worth while and then when you're set, that's when you can settle things down.

Chances are when this blows over in your mind, and you're not worried about whether you'll get married or not, you're gonna come across somebody that's going to spark something in you and that'll be the beginning of a great future for you.

Age has nothing to do with it man. I know I've said it before, and a lot of people say it and it sounds cliche, but it's just a number. You can be full of life and swoon anyone over at any age. It's all just a matter of your preferences and who you find. I mean hell, the best time I've had with a girl recently was in her upper 30's and she was faaaaaar more exciting than most people I hang out that are around my age or younger. So it'll all come full circle for you in the end.

I always wanted to get married but now I really don't care if I do or not. I'm starting to think it's an antiquated institution.

Hey. It happens to the best of us. :D Hang in there.

Oh and don't worry...we can stand back to back and fend off all the (un)happily married folk here. :)

Side note: Indian Summer. Don't let this talk fool you. We're just crazy fanatical's. Please get married still and live happily ever after. Just make sure you find the right one and you're ready. :)

Get in the gym, start lifting, working out. In two months you won't be able to help but love yourself and that confidence will carry you.

In all due respect, you either haven't read this thread very well or you just don't know what the hell you are talking about.

The guy is having self esteem issues because of injuries & subsequent surgeries to his skin. Getting himself in shape will only help him reach is fuller potential, not to mention increased energy, health, etc. Also the release of hormones that eases depression and make you happier in general. It's not just some vanity thing.

    HELL NO!

I've been with my husband since I was 19. Married at 25. Now 30. To be honest? Those 11 years are the most important of your life. I've changed so much in the past 11 years and we're really noticing it now. Almost to the point where we're kind of drifting apart. What brought us together at 19 might actually tear us apart now. I know myself so much more now at 30. I know what I want, what my goals are, what's important to me. I didn't know that at 19, or even at 25 when I got married!

I really think more people should wait to get married. When you are in your 30's, you are more comfortable with yourself. You know yourself more. You have the ability to communicate more, you are more stable in your career and have goals.

For me, it's more bizarre thinking about being divorced in my early 30's. Not because I don't love my husband but because we're two totally different people and even though we love each other we're not compatible. And maybe if we'd waited we would have figured that out. Oh well! We're where we are meant to be!

    I was 37 when I remarried.

What's age got to do with it? Your steady career makes you a "better catch."
