these people make me want to strangle them. pets are NOT children. they are animals.
do not call me their Aunt or talk to them on the side when i am on the phone with you. When they bark incessantly, tell them to shut up! there is no reason to drop them off at your parents' house every time you go out for 4 hours. Do no insist on bringing them everywhere you go. And don't tell people i don't like dogs because i don't want your big barking drooly dog in my house or their poop on my lawn. i love dogs, i just can't stand how you treat yours. i just expect them to be treated like dogs. /rant
oh, and as far as the OP, i can see being upset when a pet dies. People definitely need time to mourn. This dog has probably been her companion for 8-14 years. To loose anything you've had that long is hard.

Not at all. I've killed and eaten animals on many occasions. My hands are bloody. It's the suffering of animals (a pet companion even more so) I can't stand to watch, not the quick clean kill of something I'm going to eat. Nature is brutal, I understand that.
That being said, I no longer hunt or fish. There are enough people raising and killing animals for food that I don't have to participate. However, in a survival situation, I'd do what I had to.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

i like the rant
she had the dog 4 months. and i've said its most likely upsetting.. but she was going home "as she couldnt concentrate".. i mean the dog didnt have a will and a lucrative estate to sort out... what else was she going to do? I'd have thought being at work might take her mind off it?
