I saw someone hit a dog when I was around 10...that is still burned in my memory.
And a couple years ago I saw someone hit a raccoon and I burst into tears for about an hour. I was inconsolable. I still remember it limping off into the woods and it broke my heart. :(

I react with far more emotion when I see an animal hurt than I do if it is a person. Maybe that's wrong but I don't care.

  • I've got to add my two cents worth here. Dogs are family and upon the death of one them they would be treated like family. What is even worse would be grieving over a lost pet and also knowing that your co-workers were ridiculing you and berating you over your feelings of loss.
