Oh come on packers fan, no team has made a worse decision that yours this off season. In fact, the Packers were the biggest competion for the Cowboys before the Farve thing. Rogers is new to the action of starting qb and it will show this year.

Football season - I'm pumped thats is time again.

This is silly...I've read that the Cowboys are going 13-3, that Romo is a choke artist, that Eli is a good leader, and that the Browns are going to the Super Bowl.

I love the 'Boys, but away games against GB, Pitt, Cle, and another year in a tough division will make that difficult - though not impossible - just not as easy as we'd like it to be I think. Last year we played a joke of a division in the NFC North, it's tough to do that two straight years within the conference.

Romo choking in the playoffs is a silly farce. Two years ago he drove the Cowboys to the 1 when Whitten was stopped after getting a first down. The refs reviewed it, found that it was fourth down and put the ball 1/2 yard behind the marker when it was more accurately 1/4 of a yard. Parcells, a noted chicken of the sea, decides to kick against the common sense of:
    1. Seattle will be giving you the K ball, the same team that designed a stadium so that the sound will be at its loudest...you think you aren't getting the shiny one?
    2. Josh Brown of the Seahawks made a killing drilling 50 yard+ field goals that season.
    3. Going for it would prevent the first two things from happening.

So yes he dropped the ball, but it was him who helped get the team there in the first place.

Last year, he was the only QB not to get manhandled by a high-flying Giants defense. On the Cowboys last drive at least he got a pass off on each play, not like Brady, who was on his back after getting crushed by Tuck. Romo hit Crayton who could have ended the game with a crossing pattern TD, and almost hit TO twice with TD's in that game. Again not the sign of a choker, but of someone with bad luck.

Eli=Trent Dilfer with accuracy. On any given pass he is the best thrower in the NFL, but you have to get over the 7 other ones that the threw before that. If Asante Samuel or Brandon Merriweather held on to 'the great leaders' errant throws, or helmet catch never happens, Eli is the same old Eli. You got to the Super Bowl, b/c of defense and a running game that helped Eli only have to lead two big drives the entire post-season (Dallas 60 yards in :43 seconds and the Super Bowl game winner).

Browns are good, v/g defense, nice offense that is coming together, but you are beating SD, NE, JAX, PITT, IND, TENN, this year...I'm not sure about that.

Anyway fun early debate on an exciting season upcoming.

only a cowboy fan would book their tickets to the super bowl before the season even starts.....what a laugh, don't believe the bspn hype. the cowboys will win nothing as long as that pathetic excuse for a head coach is there. last year crayton guaranteed a super bowl appearance after getting whipped by new england. this year moron wade phillips guarantees a super bowl victory before preaseason even starts. is this guy serious? what kind of a head coach guarantees a super bowl victory, let alone before the season even starts. anyway, dallas will be one and done in the playoffs again. they may win the division, but that won't matter.........i'm a giants fan and i'll tell you i'm more worried about philly than the cowgirls.

Not that I know of. Jerry had mentioned extending it thoughout the regular season, but I think that would be too much of a distraction. Then again, we are talking about the Cowboys here.

He's not the head coach, he is a puppet.

And you shouldn't be worried about the Eagles at all.

Besides, the thead is titled "road to the Super Bowl" - shouldn't that be the goal for every team? Isn't every team on the road to the Super Bowl until they get knocked off?

Good post. Actually last year Romo had threw the game winning TD against NYG, if only Crayton had kept running his route. The Giants Superbowl season was a fluke. It just happens like that sometimes. Any game between the NFC east teams will be good, but Dallas is the class of the division and conference. We've got many good years in store for us, and this one should be great too. Romo will be one of the best QBs this year. Eli is... well just see above quote. Philly is on the way down and Washington is making some good moves. Anything can happen (like say uhh NYG last year - lol), but Dallas is making the right moves. The team with the most lovers and haters will be back on top... again.

Yeah, it won't be easy. I am not buying the hype. I think Dallas has a good team though. Better than last year's team. Will they go 13-3? I doubt it. But I think this team is better prepared for success.

NFC east has got to be the best division. Best teams in one division and best rivalries that are pretty fucking bitter. Hate is a strong word, but I really, really don't like those three teams.

This year the division fans are:

Cowboys - know they've got the real thing. The team is inching towards yet another great team that will last for many years.

Eagles - Know their team is going to shit but still keep up that classic Philly attitude

Redskins - Are optimistic about the future and rightfully so, damn.

NYG - Still thrilled about their fluke of all flukes season, totally hillarious and totally blind about their half ass team. A flash in the pan that will be out by October.

We are improved, but the ?marks I still see are WR and we've still got Roy Williams. Who's is our second WR? Hopefully Hurd is ready to step up, because I have reservations about the guy that ended our season (Crayton) and was up and down last year. Williams will get burned quite a few times, he's more of a nickleback now, IMO. Those sould be the parts we add next year, a young talent at WR and replacement for Roy.

I don't like NYG, no doubt about that. And I am bitter that we needlessly lost to that inferior team (Crayton, you POS!), but I do see the un-jaded truth when I watch football. And I can tell you these two truths: The Cowboys weren't quite ready last year and NYG isn't that good of a team and just got extremely lucky and inspired = flash in the pan.

Is any giant fan actually supremely confident about it's team's chances this season...even of making the playoffs. The last team as suspect to win the Super Bowl (and that's an awesome accomplishment) was the first Pats title team. They went 7-9 the next year and missed the playoffs. The NFC is weak so I won't say that the G-Men won't make it this year, but do Giants fans really think they have a better shot than the AFC and Cowboys this year?

didnt think we had a shot last yr either..funny how my roomate at the time, diehard 'Boys fan was thinking the same thing after yall beat us..barely, in the 4th quarter..1st game yall got lucky cause we lost mad players to injury and 2nd game cause we blew it. AND all I kept telling him was I still think we're better than you and see you in the playoffs
    well

see you in the playoffs we did, and I was proven right. ;)

    oh

wont be too much diff. this yr and despite losing a few players I think we're gonna be even better this yr.

i never thought the 'boys were all that much better than the G-men in the first two games, but in the first 2 1/2 qtrs of the playoffs I really thought that we beat you all over the field then you rose from the dead. Anyway, like I asked in my post are you very confident that you are going back? Most G-men fans seem really happy to win (as well they should), but losing your best secondary player, strahan, shockey, etc. seems to worry most of my friends, that's all. Oh yea I still hate Super Trent Dilfer (aka Eli Manning)...on his next 13 step drop in the face of a middle rush let me know how you feel about him.

lol - Super Trent Dilfer. Last year the Boys had some obvious weaknesses, but they still looked superior to NYG to me. This year the gap has been widened, as far as I can see. Strahan was in the paper the other day. He was at Dallas's camp talking to the team. He said Dallas was the strongest team they had played all year last year. Best team I saw last year was easily NE, but hey - thats what he said.

how I feel about eli? well since we got him I BEEN telling my boys and all my rivals that I thought he was gonna wind up being better than his brother..I just didnt expect him to get a ring faster than him. And this yr I think you're gonna see a complete, more confident Eli. If last yr wasnt a boost of confidence for him to live up to his potential then it will never happen..so expect a monster yr from him.
Am I confident we can win it all again? HELL YEA! I was last yr and I will be again this yr, but thats just me..I live and die with my teams and dont count em out till its over. Strahan and Shockey will be huge losses, no doubt, but I have faith in Kevin Boss big time and Osi and the rest of the Defense to pick up the slack..one man doesnt make a defensive unit. The sacks will keep coming by Umenyiora..believe that. Our RB tandems of Jacobs, Bradshaw and Ward is beast!!! WR's we good with Plaxico, and for the record the 1st half of the season Eli and Plaxico ranked 2nd behind Brady and Moss in td completions. A more confident Manning, healthy Plax and a WR corps of Toomer, Smith, Tyree and maybe even Manningham has me pretty giddy.

SO, barring injuries and bad luck I think we'll get pretty far again.

Giants vs Chargers in the Super Bowl this yr..the 2 guys who were traded for each other are going head to head...if it isnt a brother matchup against Peyton
Aah, fuck it, I’m just gonna go home, turn on the fuckin’ TV...

lol - Super Trent Dilfer.
Patriots were NOT the best team against the Ravens in a game they shoulda lost..not better than the giants in the season finale and barely better than the Chargers in the playoffs....they deserved to lose that perfect season cause they werent perfect by any stretch of the imagination..3 games right there they shoulda lost but hey..its all good..karma got them in the end anyways :D

oh yea..barely better that the Colts in that mid season game too...patriots are done..this yrs gonna be a diff yr for them..lets see how they deal with that demoralizing loss this yr...cause what if they go perfect again? they still not gonna be confident enough to win it all.

how I feel about eli? well since we got him I BEEN telling my boys and all my rivals that I thought he was gonna wind up being better than his brother..I just didnt expect him to get a ring faster than him.

Plax is sweet no doubt...what's being lost in all of this is not that Eli, Boss, or your kinda lame RBs (Christian Okoye...I mean Jacobs, as well as, Bradshaw and Ward) are really good its the O-Line which stayed healthy last year that did it for you on that side of the ball. Your D took a big loss in the secondary with Wilson leaving, but its strength was always with the line...we'll see what Strahan meant I guess. Eli had about 6 good passes in the playoffs last year so I remain unconvinced that his game in the regular season finale is a sign of things to come.

I hear ya man..injuries are gonna play a big part for any team not just the boys and the G-men, thats a given so lets see what happens. We stay healthy I'm confident. We start dropping like we did 1st 2-3 games last yr, its gonna be tough.
Thing with the 'boys is I still dont think Romo has what it takes to get you guys there..Craytons kinda suspect, Tank Johnson you still havent got a full season and dont know what Pacmans gonna bring. What about Newman?
I'll give you WItten and Barber tho, theyre nasty but I think theres still question marks on the Cowboys other than them.

edit-btw, lol okoye used to be one of my fav players back then..guy was a beast but ..again..injuries and all that. Let's hope Jacobs doesnt wind up like that, knock on wood
