First sign of independence, they wanna rebel... it comes naturally... cos humans aren't meant to be caged. The poor fuckers don't realise that we (society) will do whatever it takes to brainwash them to our way of thinking and put them in their box... boot camp, military school, therapy, jail... whatever it takes!

We WILL make the poor fuckers conform to normality. Authority seems to be the only reality these days... and freedom only exists in our minds :( sad sad sad state of affairs.

only if they don't behave themselves ;) why should rebellion be something that's illegal? ( unless it's underage sex and drugs/alcohol i totally approve of that ;) )

person can be rebellious without braking rules ya know lots of teenagers don't understand that. Being your own person and an adult is about taking responsibility for your actions and being independent.... and not swearing at your teacher :D

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

but where the fuck have these rules come from? I've heard stories of parents who can't cope because of their 'troubled' teenagers, so have them arrested for SOMETHING. Let's not get off track on these stories though... there are too many parents who don't know how to deal with their kids natural rebellion of ya know talking back to parents, not doing what they're told immediately but in ten minutes... stuff like that... and parents think they need to get the 'professionals' to sort it out. The fact that most teenagers seem to rebel in some way makes me feel that this way of life isn't natural anyway.

oh it's far too late for anybody to change it :( try and drag some people away from their tv's and playstations for an uprising? If I could scrape 5 people together we'll probably all be arrested immediately anyway :( . Only thing I can do is have millions of kids I guess and raise them as anarchists... although that doesn't seem like a likely situation :o

    Any suggestions? :)

i don't think this situation is as bad as you think. i'm sure majority of adults can differentiate between someone not doing what they're told and someone who is out of control and danger to the society.
if teenagers are smart enough they will figure out a way how to sweet talk their parents to get their way

but then i know nothing of 'professionals' getting involved or being told off a lot, my dad was not strict, not strict at all. i think teenagers these days are getting out of control and then blame it on the boredom and parents  those morons just don't know how to live, they want someone to entertain them and to control them but not to control them too much  it's all a load of bollocks if you ask me, teenagers are getting away with a lot more things these days because they know they can.

I'll complain about whatever the fuck I like :) you should know that by now. Just cos there's nothing I can see that can be done... doesn't mean I can't make the point that it makes me sad. Perhaps a discussion can then occur and people can make suggestions. I don't see how not talking about it will make it better

:( sorry chimey... don't get me wrong, I hate the little fuckers... it was actually hating them yesterday got me around to this thinking. I'm not talking about them teenagers.. just how it's natural for teenagers in general to rebel SOMEHOW and is growing up simply going against our natural instincts? :(

I really dont' know where I'm going with this... just that something's wrong and I'm not happy about something. I often imagine if countries overpower countries these days, there's nothing can be done about it cos the bigger country WILL win. It's not like people have the passion anymore that we used to have... like if something like 1916 happened again, who the fuck would fight? Or would we just sit back and say 'ah well, that's how these things go'. Have we all just lost the fight against the man? :(

thats a bit of a sweeping statement. I rebelled against fuck all when I was younger. Thats also because I had feck all to rebel against. Was pretty much always allowed to drink, go out with friends, go to pubs when I was 15 etc... because of that I actually did fuck all going out etc... not much fun in "sneaking" into a pub I was allowed in!

    I blame the parents.

My parents were pretty permissive too, as long as I attended school and made sure I'd at least try to have a big university diploma, they'd let me have my share of nights out, shows and hangovers.

And yet I never rebelled against anything. I mean I have opinions, pretty lefty ones, might I add, and I rarely don't stand up for myself when required to, but I never actually rebelled against anything.

I never really knew why... I don't even know if I missed something important in the process of growing up and becoming an adult.

Yep! We did pretty much what we wanted, a few things we shouldn't and if we were caught we'd get a slap, and we wouldn't complain. Can't see what they have to rebel against that adults don't.

A lot of the complaints nowadays is that they have nothing to do. Well neither did we, we just had to make our own amusement. Unfortunately some of them have no imagination. One of mine had a face as long as a fiddle because the computer packed up and she couldn't get on MSN or Facebook.... fuck me!!!!!!!!

I think the ones who rebelled at my school weren't the ones who had no freedom but those who had parents who didn't give a damn what they did. May be as a getting attention thing. I think myself and my friends who all had parents that gave us a lot of freedom but knew our parents cared what we did, didn't feel the need to rebel. Does that make sense :o

I think I';m trying to say some rebellion comes from having too much freedom and needing some guidance and rules.

I think the art of freedom is to be educated enough to know what you're rebelling against. Unfortunately a lot of kids out there don't know what they're doing.

I think society's intentions are good (constrictive for the greater good) but it gets caught up in today's madness and then becomes a destructive cycle.

I work with these so called fuckers when they're young...and can see excatly who they'll turn out to be due to their parents and opportunities they do/don't/will/won't get.

yep... there is not one question on this post.

nobody cages teenagers.. or put them into boxes... i dont know a single teenager who has been to jail, boot camp, military school (isnt that a boot camp?) or therapy...

and what is normality? i've read posts by people on here who are deemed normal.. and it sounds boring... and yet compared to mental folk who live in huts and smoke grass all day i'm boring... what is normal?

anarchy will never work... the dictionary definition you posted tells us why...

1 a: absence of government b: a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority c: a utopian society of individuals who enjoy complete freedom without government

    a: will never work...

b: state of lawlessness equals individuals doing what they please... i.e. i would shoot someone in the face simply for wearing a beige cardigan.

    c: utopian.. never gonna happen.

Thank you... finally somebody who seems to understand what I'm talking about. Good point... and, from a teachers point of view, do you have any means of teaching them what to do?

I agree with you about society... and I also think that the vast majority seem to be blind to a certain way of thinking. I probably shouldn't have brought up this topic since I have personal reasons for feeling how I do... and they're not the kind I'm EVER gona talk about on the internet.
