I like bluegrass music. I'm not a big enough fan to know all the bands, etc., but I enjoy going to a good bluegrass fest and spending the afternoon listening to them play.

wanna hear a great small bluegrass band http://www.trampledbyturtles.com

Years ago I went to a free festival in Luxemburg. I travelled for 8 hours through 3 countries to get there.
I was really looking forward to seeing MUSE and was trying to work my way up through the crowd.
The band just before MUSE were Indochine (anyone know them?) and their music was a mix of french chanson music and popular rock. It stank. The performance was over the top as well, I think I remember the singer wearing a necklace made of roses.
I hated it and refused to rock out. But I was surrounded by Indochine die-hards and they started pushing me back.

So I rocked out. I smiled, I jumped, I went "Yeah!".

The crowd loved me! I was their MRCIF (most recently converted indochine fan). They helped me stay up front. And when Indochine stopped playing after an hour of torture, they all left to get a drink and I stood on the first row.

    MUSE were amazing.

PS Here's a pic of the singer that evening... no necklace, but still:

    Indochine? BAHAHAHA!

When my family first moved back to France, Indochine was The Shit.
I remember thinking, "France is musical purgatory."
    I still do.

Wow. If I refer to some of these posts, I must have an extremely embarrassing record collection.

    That said, I confess that:
    1) I don't like Black, even though I have doo-doo-do-do-doo-do-doo'ed with the crowd.
    2) I bought a Vanessa Carlton album.

Well, this is my personal hall of shame

I saw Menudo live (and enjoyed it).
I saw REO Speedwagon and Poison live
I have all Cinderella and Warrant CDs
I have not one but two Winger CDs
I must have listened to the song When the Children Cry (White Lion) like a billion times
I really enjoy Meatloaf's I will do anything for love (but I won't do that)
I'm a total absolute sucker for Total Eclipse of the Heart (Bonnie Tyler)
I've seen Pretty in Pink way too many times
And I'll say it, I love the song Pump the Jam by Technotronic

No Code is the album for me. that came out in '96? i first gave it a 'serious' listen 4 yrs later. by serious i mean straight through. i haven't done that yet with Riot Act yet and it's 4 yrs later...

Binaural also took along time for me to come around to...but that album is freakn brilliant imo...

I dig the new Dixie Chicks song Not Ready To Make Nice. Guess I like the fact they're sticking to their beliefs.

I think "Just Like A Pill" by Pink is a great tune. I also think that kinda-rockin song where Kelly Clarkson is being hot in the video is a decent pop-rock tune.

Both are better than almost anything on riot act.
Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?

    so sorry

    LOL - don't be!
Good thread, however i just don't understand how "Pink or Kelly Clarkson" are better that 'anything on Riot act". . . . did that person listen to the entire CD?
Granted, it is not their finest work, but it's still got some good cuts on it. We should also always keep in mind where the boys were when this was written - very important.
    It is indeed, all good.

oh yeah baby... I esp loved Journey and Eagles for the ballads and the (semi)rockers and I love tons of 60s...
sometimes I listen to the oldies station in the car cuz even if the song sucks, it's always over in 3 minutes :p
I have the "Grease" Soundtrack and can do the "hand-jive" flawlessly and even know all the jibberish words to "You're The One That I Want". :D
Oh yikes I'm sorry but  that movie just freaks me out  LOL

Here's one I've never posted publicly... in high school, I bought a Lou Rawls album just for that 'you'll never know' song...
the one that goes 'you're gonna miss my lovin'... his voice was just so silky smooth :)
... wish the world could go again with love ...

hell yes "Just Like A Pill" is better than almost any songs on riot act. I was being totally serious. I'd say "I Am Mine" is better, but that's it. riot act sucks and makes me want to take a nap.
