  • If I ever line up at a Walmart (of all places) the night before to buy cheap crap I don't need...I actually would want to die at that point.

I would welcome death...it would be a relief.

  • Merry Christmas! I betcha Jesus is proud.

The most horrible thing about this in my opinion is that is takes more than one person to trample a person to death. It's one thing to get knocked down because of some asshole but how many assholes did it take to actually KILL this guy? Isn't it common decency to make sure you're not walking on someone?

I'm pretty sure that was meant in that a 34 year old male is in much better physical condition than an 80 year old greeter...i.e. knocked down and trampled easier, hinting at the verocity and carelessness of the crowd, not that it was 'better'. Nice interpretation though.
oh, could be. i didn't see it that way, thanks for pointing it out.

While possible, I can't imagine (edit - I CAN imagine it, but you know what I mean) someone insinuating that it would be more acceptable if the guy hadda been 80. I think my interpretation is correct ;)

Even better than that - how many of these fools walked on the guy, know it, and don't give a shit.
  • i hope the folks that walked all over this poor guy were caught on camera, found and get stuck in jail and have to hock all the crap they bought to pay legal fees.

Often it's not actually the fault of the people doing the trampling but because of people from behind pushing... they've nowhere to go but forward :o

I can understand that. I'm quite a cynical fucker myself. We're mostly good people here though.

    I just can't imagine...

I mean, KNOWING you just walked on someone and they ended up dead and paying for your items like nothing is wrong.

So i'm guessing the economy is doing well, right? Why all the huba huba of tough times? Guess after this, everybody is doing fine ...

How the hell would you be so evil to trample a man, woman, or child out of the way, to buy "stuff?" That's just plan sad.

I hope the cameras catch the people who did this to this 34 year old. I hope they catch them, sentence for life in prision and rot like the evil sinners that they are.

"They kept shopping. It's not right. They're savages," Cribbs said.

WOW! Man is dead, and other's are having a good time, shopping?

    Posted: Nov 28, 2008 02:39 PM EST

    By News Channel 3

Black Friday has turned violent after reports of shots fired at the Toys-R-Us on Highway 111 in Palm Desert.

Unconfirmed reports state that at least one people was shot and one person, a juvenile, has been held. There's also no word on if there were multiple gunmen.

According to scanner reports, the incident happened just before 11:30 a.m. at the store located at 72314 Highway 111.

Riverside County Sheriff's Department as well as officers from the Cathedral City and Indio police departments are on scene.

By 11:55 a.m., authorities were still searching for at least one gunman.

Deputies told News Channel 3 that some shoppers inside were evacuated while others were kept in the store shortly after shooting as deputies swept the store for suspects.

News Channel 3 has a crew on the scene and we'll bring you live updates on the air and online at KESQ.com.

This is all just so sad...what a statement about our society, that we care more about things than people.

I would like to see the merchandise taken from them and used to hit them upside the head, the merchandise hocked and used to buy some food and pay for some bills of the surviving family members of the deceased.

They're probably happy as hell for all the free advertising. Walmart cares less about people than the people who shop there.

I checked out of X-Mas shopping a couple of years ago. It's all about things, which disgusts me.

I'm not even religous, yet I'm wishing people could let the material shit go and get into the spirit of things (family, togetherness, etc).

Here I thought that with the economy that would be more likely. So wrong. :(
Walking can be a real trip

it seems that the term 'black friday' is quickly becoming synomous with what greed and commercialism does to some people's mind, heart and soul to turn them cold and black
