    I am DYING
to get a copy of this before too long-
heard nothing but good things about it!

I just finished "Still Life With Woodpecker",
    by Tom Robbins.
    Now I'm palate-cleansing with some
    Lee Child's novels-
I am chronologically making my way through
    the Jack Reacher series.
Next up for heavy summer reading:
"The Satanic Verses," by Salman Rushdie.
    Cheers.
'Cause you don't give blood and take it back again.

Read "The Savage City" recently on vacation. Great book about the atmosphere and race relations in NYC in the 60's.

Then read "Gang Leader For A Day" which was also great about a sociology grad student who spent the better part of a decade with a gang in Chicago. Another good one.

Just started "The Lone Survivor" last night about the SEALS and a deadly mission in 2005. Good stuff so far, although the guy is about as far to the right politically as it gets.

"A Feast For Crows" by George R. R. Martin. Book 4 in the "A Song of Fire & Ice." Amazing.

An absolute masterpiece. I'm not even a big fantasy reader (closest I got was Stephen King's Dark Tower series and Lord Of The Rings trilogy), but this series is so good. I definitely recommend this book/series.

Just completed two summer beach books Good in Bed and In her Shoes both by Jennifer Weiner. Before that was Little Bee by Chris Cleave...loved this one! Still have to get through To Kill a Mockingbird and The Book of Negros to complete my summer reading list.

"A Dance With Dragons" by George RR Martin -- the book that comes after A Feast For Crows. Pretty good!

Next up is "The Baby Jesus Butt-Plug" by Carlton Mellick III. I make it a firm rule to jump genres with every book so that I dont get bogged down. Interesting to go from Historical Fiction - Mystery - Fantasy - Bizzaro Fiction as my last 3 and next 1 will go!

Just finished The Rapper's Handbook. Most of it I knew from trial and error but picked up a few tips on combating writer's block. And there were some funny passages too. One about saying your real experiences, "if you're a 12 year old suburbanite don't talk about busting caps, popping cops, drinking, doing drugs, etc. you're just lying, you might as well talk about how it feels to give birth."
