i finally got around to reading the alchemist, by paulo coelho. what a quick and easy read, but so much inspiration packed into such a sweet story. seems most appropriate to post a few beautiful words today...
there is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.
...we contemplate each other, and we want each other, and i give it life and warmth, and it gives me my reason for living.
you will never be able to escape from your heart. so it's better to listen to what it has to say.
when i have truly been searching for my treasure, every day has been luminous, because i've known that every hour was a part of the dream that i would find it.
one is loved because one is loved. no reason is needed for loving.
i don't live in either my past or my future. i'm interested only in the present. if you can concentrate on the present, you'll be a happy man.
when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

Money may be the husk of many things, but not the kernel. It brings you food, but not appetite; medicine, but not health; acquaintances, but not friends; servants, but not loyalty; days of joy, but not peace or happiness.

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you really want.
~ Margaret Young
The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.

"It is said that science will dehumanise people and turn them into numbers. That is false, tragically false. Look for yourself. This is the concentration camp and crematorium at Auschwitz. This is where people were turned into numbers. Into this pond were flushed the ashes of some four million people. And that was not done by gas. It was done by arrogance. It was done by dogma. It was done by ignorance. When people believe that they have absolute knowledge, with no test in reality, this is how they behave. This is what men do when they aspire to the knowledge of gods."

A baby is born into this world in a state of fear. Total paranoia and awareness. He sees the world with eyes not used yet. As he grows up, his parents lay all this stuff on him. They tell him, when they should be letting him tell them. Let the children lead you." ~ Charles Manson
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

Through the darkness of futures past, the magician longs to see. One chants out between two worlds: "Fire Walk With Me." We lived among the people - I think you say convenience store? We lived above it. I mean it like it is, like it sounds. My name is Mike. His name is BOB.
