is what this guy is doing to the record books comparable to what BABE RUTH DID????

Babe Ruth when he first showed up was hitting more home runs than ENTIRE TEAMS were hitting....He made a fucking joke of the record books....

Isnt what Devin Hester is doing the same thing??? Actually isnt it even MORE IMPRESSIVE????

he has scored i think 11 touchdowns on returns in 26 games???? (something like that)

the RECORD is 13 touchdowns in 223 games????(ill find out the guys name in a second...heheheh)

THATS JUST FUCKING INSANE!!!!!!!

isnt it like BARRY "STEROID FREAK" BONDS hitting 150 home runs in a season????

or like Chamberlain scoring 150 points in a game?????

or am i talking out of my ass??????
Take me piece by piece.....

Speedy, what we have here is a classic case of an individual rising above the normalities of the average athlete, becoming somewhat supernatural, maybe even mythological if you will, pulling his giant brown balls out of his silk football pants professionally sewn by Malayasians and placing them on the face of the NFL record books and coverage teams.

    It's really quite simple.

    Oh, and suck my balls.

It is unreal for sure. I am not sure I could compare it to the Babe's record, but it is pretty amazing. Whats even more amazing is there are still teams that choose to punt to this guy. Kicking off to him is one thing, but why you would ever punt to him is kinda stupid if you ask me.

Comparing Hester to Ruth is like comparing apples to oranges.
Or more accurately in Ruth's case, apples to hot dogs, beer and hookers.
But what Hester has done is pretty astounding.

bostonlou was banned forever, I cut my posting down by 89% and was asked by 36,078 people why I came out of my 4 day retirement, and I think there were several birthdays, apparently nobody thought my Devin Hester post was brilliant, and you can all still suck my motherfucking nuts. That about sums it up.

    Take care.

Devin Hester hasn't broken the record yet, you never know what could happen. Devin is the best thing the Bears have going for them but to compare him to Babe Ruth is kinda ridiculous.

I'd compare him more to Michael Jordan. He is single handedly reviving Chicago sports. Even when the Bears blow, people will still go to games just to see Hester. He even wears number 23. He is a game changer. One minute your down by a TD, 10 seconds later, it's tied. He has to be one of the fastest in pro-football and has an amazing eye for holes. Now only if the Bears could develop his WR skills a bit more. I say remove the franchise tag from Briggs, but still give him a decent contract, but slap it on Hester and give him a HUGE 10 year deal. He is now the face of the Chicago Bears. He is the most dangerous player in football. I mean he is single handedly making teams change their game plan to adjust for him. If the Bears fuck it up and let him go due to free agency, they will be the laughing stock of sports. He puts people in the seats. They need to pay him whatever the hell he wants, he is worth it.

    wait a second....

i was comparing him to Ruth as far as what he is doing to the record books....

when Ruth started hitting home runs he was hitting more home runs a season than many teams were hitting...

how can you NOT compare scoring 11 return touchdowns almost 10 TIMES FASTER than the next closest competitor??? (as far as how many games it has taken).....

im not comparing him to Ruth as far as career stats.....im not a fool....hehehehe

That is my biggest fear when it comes to this team. That organization has been burned by so many decisions in the past it would not surprise me to see him wind up in a fuggin Green Bay or Dallas uniform because we let him slip away.

Hester is a badass....but comparing his accomplishments to the Babe's isn't worth doing until Hester has 4 rings on his fingers, like Ruth does.

...and, it still could take Hester 278 games to get # 13.

Not to be technical, but one of Hester's returns was a FG return and those are not qualified as return tds in the NFL record books. The NFL record book only lists combined punt and kick returns for tds.

Also, Dante Hall has 12 tds in 104 games and the record is 13 combined in how many games Brian Mitchell played so Hall should take the record sooner than Hester.

Plus for Hester to be truly as dominate in such a specialized category, he would have to break both the career individual punt return (10 by Eric Metcalf) and individual kick return record (6 held by many players.)

Plus, he would have to have a season that would surpass Travis Williams in kick returns. Williams had the greatest single season as a return man averaging 41 yards a kick return and 4 tds in one season.

    See my edit.

And are you sure it's 277 games???? That's over 17 years of games!

Angelo cannot fuck this up. He has to realize what a special guy this is. I'd pay him whatever he wanted.

If I were GM of the Bears, he would be my offeason moves:

    - Sign Briggs to a fair 5 yr deal and rescind the Franchise tag.

    - Sign Berrian to a hearty 3 year deal.

    - Sign Grossman to a cheap-incentive laden 2 year deal.(I mean I think he'd even be a decent back-up if not the starter)

    - Sign Hester to a huge contract ASAP. Slap Franchise tag on him.

    - Release Griese.

    - Get rid of everyone on the O-Line except Kruetz.

    - DRAFT O-LINE. Maybe a safety. Maybe a QB in the later rounds.

    - Unfortunatley, we may have to let Aybendejo go though.

    - Fire Ron Turner.

    - Release Adam Archuletta.

I just checked and Brian Mitchell only played in 223 games. Also in his last year he didn't have a return for a td so it took him at most 207 games to get 13 tds.

Just remember Dante Hall started out like a ball of flame too and teams just stopped kicking to him. Not all coaches are as arrogant as Shanahan.

Hester does currently have the all time highest career punt return average, but it's a tough record to hold as your career gets longer.

What this post should be about is, why the fuck Ron Turner doesn't get Hester 10+ touches per game on offense. Why the fuck not use him in the offense besides once as a diversion, and once on a shit screen.

You forgot to add, "go 0-16" which would be the net result of cutting all but 1 offensive lineman and overpaying a KR.
