But now that the Brew Crew have CC, time for Hendry to make a deal.

Agree. Glad we took 2/3 but it should have been a sweep, I'll still take 2/3 though. Glad we could finally win a big road series. Sucks that the Crew got CC without having to give up a single current major league player (barring the player to be named isn't one). I'm gonna hear about all day at work tomorrow from the lame Brewers fans up here. Still in 1st though!! We all know Hendry's gonna make a deal, it's just what one is it gonna be.

Yeah, if he pitches as normal he'll win maybe another 7-8 games TOPS...and that's if he pitches out of his mind with an average offensive team.
The Cubs need not worry, but I do think they should try to tie up loose ends.

So now that CC is out of the running, what other big name pitchers will Hendry target?


I think the main targets would be Harden, Roy Halladay, Randy Wolf, and AJ Burnett.


Don't know if the Cubs have enough to get Halladay or Harden, but I would prefer Burnett in the second tier of guys.

Harden supposed to start Friday or Saturday. With the allstar break, Lou can flip his rotation many different ways for the 2nd half. I think they've got Mon-Thursday off, but Z and Demp are both in the allstar game, so we'll see. But it definitely makes the most sense to have Harden 2nd followed by Demp and Lilly.

For now I'd go with Marquis as the 5th, if just to have another lefty, Marshall, in the pen. But the second Marquis starts to suck like the end of last year, time for him to fuck off.

Great trade barring Harden stays healthy. I'll miss Gallagher a little, but so long Murton and Patterson. Patterson did show some promise in the Sox series at Wrigley but played horrible in the series on the south side, plus he's not great at showing up on time.

I'm not going to lie...for the first time since the Yankees circa 1998-2000 I will be rooting for injuries. Good trade for the cubs though.

Who are they going to get and who do they have to possibly give up for a solid bat?

seriously the cards are garbage, and they are about to figure out that they are not a good baseball team. they are like the braves in the past few years, too good on the field for their own good. they should suck for a few years, get some good players through the draft, then be a very good team.

Although I think there manager is a complete AHOLE, he has done a hell of a job this year. That said they can start playing like they should and fall out the race any time now.

Good win tonight... even better that both the Brewers and Cards lost.

I'm confident that the Cards will be 10 games behind come September.

The Brewers will win 90 or so and get the Wild Card... October can't come soon enough
