Yeah and the "cell" is the crowning jewel of ballparks.

I like how the only critique of the Twins that Sux fans can come up with is the Metrodome. Hilarious. Our new park will kick all kinds of ass and then you will just have to complain that you _still_ lose to us all the time there and your manager likes our team more than his own. LOLzzzzzz

The Cell is like a masterpiece compared to that shitbox. It's a shame that the Twins weren't contracted a few years back....

Why, so you guys would get some more wins?

Looks like I was correct about the Sux bats cooling off. The Twins are back on top. I must admit I felt mixed emotions as I watched T-HUNTS, one of my favorite former Twinkies, go down looking tonight. Even without T-HUNTS and without Johan, who had another solid performance tonight for the Mets, the Twinks just keep on rollin'.

It's not that I have a hatred for the White Sox or their fans. It's that my first post regarding the White Sox/Twins Pennant chase of the 2006 season was followed by immature, unoriginal, and humorless personal attacks. The banter went back and forth throughout the season ultimately ending in vindication for myself and Twinks fans as the Twins won the division and the Sux hit the links.

What's with AJ's frost? When he flipped his helmet off to make a play, it looked like Aaron Carter was behind the plate. I think we know which team has the better catcher and pitching staff, and clutch hitting (.318 w/ runners in scoring position), and defense, and youth, and manager, and fans. That's right. The Twins.

True. All that, and Contreras is still ugly. :D

How many rings does Gardsy have? Ozzie has more:) Guess they don't give out banners for better fans, what a shame. Can't really argue with the other shit, but if it makes you feel better, go ahead. I'll take being a 1/2 game out on August 23rd. Plus I'm still high from two nights of drinking, drugs and Eddie solo, so I feel good.

I know I was on here in 2006, can't remember if it ever got personal or not. I usually tend to let those things go in real life, so I can't even begin to remember about an online message board. Maybe if you posted your garble in your own team's thread, you wouldn't get so many unwanted responses. And as for humorless and unoriginal, Sux and calling our players ugly, yea. Woohoo. You slay me.

Gonna be a tough game tonight against Kazmir. He's been struggling a bit lately, so they need to get to him early. Also need a good outing from Vazquez. He's been stellar lately, which makes me nervous cuz he never seems to pitch with good consistency. We shall see.

How do you figure better fans and manager? The stadium is half empty most of the time and the whole franchise was almost CONTRACTED. While Gardy is a very good manager, he still hasn't done shit in the postseason. I'll take Ozzie as my manager any day of the week.

I'm not sure where all of your bitterness towards the Sox and their fans is coming from. I don't hate the twins. They're a huge rival for us and we've been battling for division titles with each other for the past decade. Should be a fun 5 weeks.......

Huge game today. We need this one. Hopin Javy can keep it up like he has the past couple of starts.

Would you want to go inside a "shithole" on a beautiful day to watch baseball? Why do you think our attendance isn't that great? That being said, when the Sux were in town, they averaged more than 30k fans a night all during the week. We're definitely not at the bottom of the league for attendance.

Do you know why we were almost contracted? Our greedy billionaire owner Pohlad was willing to contract the team for a handsome pay day. I don't really think that's our fault. He's the one that could have paid for a stadium out of his own pocket, but had to go to the taxpayers of Minnesota to foot the bill for most of it. It had nothing to do with attendance at all.

Ugh, brutal game today. Vazquez pitched awesome until the 8th. Rays just manufactured runs, never hit the ball hard and just drew the walks. And can't blame it all on Thornton, but when you're coming out of the bullpen with bases loaded and no outs, you just can't give up a walk (although Iwamura wasn't doing him any favors fouling off like 7 or 8 pitches). Not one to make excuses about the umps, but he wasn't giving the outside corner all day long, being really tight. Then all of a sudden he rings up Swish in the 8th with a pitch that was easily 4-5 inches off the plate. Even the Fox announcers agreed. I'm going to the game tomorrow, gotta salvage atleast 1 game in this series. Hopefully Buehrle can get it done.

And back to those announcers. I like the start time of these Saturday games, especially going to them cuz you get out around now and can just go hit the bars. But I'm not a fan of having to listen to the Fox announcers. Usually just put on 670 instead. They must have talked about Joe Madden atleast once ever half inning of the entire game. It was obsessive. No doubt he's done a great job and is definitely a front-runner for AL manager of the year, but it just got a little tiresome.

Sorry pal, but wrong you are.

Was at the game, haven't seen a replay yet, but I definitely think that was a bad call giving AJ 3rd. But if Upton didn't dog it on Quentin's flyball, AJ would have never been able to tag for 2nd anyway. So many situations. Wouldn't say they didn't deserve to win b/c at worst, the game goes into the top of th 11th still tied. But they didn't deserve it there. Was good to see Konerko come up with a clutch hit for once, and the bullpen finally held it down. I'll take it.

And I've seen that shirt before, or atleast that joke. It is pretty funny. Always wondered why the kindergarten teacher would ask a 5 year old about drug dealers and hookers. Must have the smarts of cub fan :)

Your team has been in first, what, 3 times? And never for more than a day or two.. I thought those youngin's had more stamina.

Apparently the Minnesota Twinkies can't keep it up.
  • Oh yeah, looks like I'm wrong.

Thanks Sox...you just gave the Cubs the BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL.

which means, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. But you're welcome :)

And here's a nice little stat for ya, besides last year's Red Sox who were tied for the best record in baseball, not a team this decade has finished the season with the outright best record and won the World Series. So keep it up.

  • Meatball alert! Monster of the Midway!

I stand by my prediction of the Twins being 3 games behind the Sox when thier 14 game trip ends.

Sox have a chance tommorow to pick up a game and a half on the Twins if they win the makeup and the scheduled game in Baltimore. Hopefully they do just that.

I sure hope so. My buddy, who's a Sox friend thinks they're going to blow it.

Same ump who blew that call in the 2005 ALCS.

Now, after seeing the replays many times, it clearly wasn't a good call. But how is that cheating? Cuz he knows the rules? Is it cheating when a basketball player draws a foul to shoot free throws? Cheating when a receiver falls down to get a pass interference call? It's a part of sports, putting yourself in a position to win games. Blame the ump for the call, not the game, and definitely not AJ.

And it is very strange that it was the same ump in both questionable AJ plays. Must have a man crush on him or something. But then again, neither call directly gave the Sox a W. Both times, players still had to execute to win the game, a la Joe Crede smashing one of the wall in 2005 and Alexi hitting a double down the line that would've scored two. In both situations, it was set-up by bonehead plays by the other team too, Upton dragging ass on a fly ball allowing AJ to tag to 2nd, and Josh Paul being a hot dog and rolling the ball back to the pitchers mound(before the ump made a strike three call) instead of tagging AJ. And it's also not like a it's guaranteed loss for the Sox in either situation. At worst, both games go into the next inning tied.

  • It was heads up to even be in that position in the first place. AJ saw Upton dogging yet another play, and moved up into 2nd base.

Nice win today against Baltimore. Nice to see the pen protect a 1 run lead. Go M's!

Amen brotha. Too bad they couldn't win that suspended game figuring they should've won it all the way back in May. But at this point, I'll take any win.

I was just thinking about this while watching the game last night, Kenny deserves a ton of credit for some of the moves he's made in the last two years. And now that Mariotti's gone, someone might actually give it to him. 4 of the Sox best players are pick-ups only Williams wanted, Quentin, Danks, Floyd, Ramirez, and look how they're coming through this year. I wish Swish would get his average up, but he's still gonna hit atleast 25 homers and 80 RBIs. And you can't measure what the guy brings to the clubhouse. There have been some other moves that have worked well too.

Frank, what do you think about the situation at 3rd for next year? Pretty sure Crede will be gone, but with the way Uribe's been playing, fielding atleast, doesn't seem all bad. And when's Fields gonna get his turn?

Be nice to win tonight and head into Fenway hot. Let's go Danks!

Kenny definitely deserves a ton of credit. I was highly skeptical coming into this season. The thing I was most worried about were Floyd and Danks. Ans shockingly, those two have probably been our two most reliable starters all year. If it werent for the Rays and their amazing turnaround, Kenny would definitely be executive of the year.

As for 3rd, I'm not sold on Fields at all. His defense is brutal and he strikes out a TON. They might actually be able to bring Crede back at relatively cheap since I don't think many teams are going to be throwing tons of $ at him with those back issues. I say bring back Crede and Uribe and trade Fields..

    What do you think iwasbittin?
