Rob who slept on the ground last night?imalive said:0 -
She's got on her 'I love my 'woogie' and just want you to throw it a couple hundred times for me, (let me tilt my head a bit more)' look. She's a really good girl, i got her after my beloved dog, Guinness, died after being with me for 14 years. It was hard to love another dog, but Chelsea is so easy that she's a perfect fit. I've had her for 6 years, she was a (giant) baby when i first got her.Natashapearljamfan said:
Hello njnancy welcome :-h, Rob told me about this thread too!! Chelsea is beautiful she looks very mischievous...is she or is that part of her adorable look?njnancy said:Hello! :-h imalive (rob) told me about this awesome doggie thread. I admit i have not read all 379 pages, yet, but.....
here's my Giant Pound Puppy Chelsea (this particular rescue group goes to Puerto Rico and brings the strays back to the US - assholes enjoy shooting the dogs who hang out by the beach :o3 ).
We did a DNA test on her as a present for my son who wants to be a zoologist - she's a Level 3 Rhodesian Ridgeback & Siberian Husky, Level 4 Beagle, Boston Terrier, Dalmatian, Rottweiler. Essentially, a Level 1 MUTT - my favorite breed :x .
She will sleep all day, but say 'outside' and she grabs every toy she can fit in her mouth and will run in circles in our very small backyard (at least we have one here) for a good 1/2 hour. She's also a digger - which was very cute until i started tripping in hidden holes and flowers were being decimated. She'll concentrate on digging a perfect hole and then lie down in it. She will fetch forever, lick you till you have to talk to a dog about boundaries and eat rawhide like it's a snausage - so i have to watch her before she devours too much. She also has the strangest back legs and paws - they're like a kangaroo.
My son loves her and wanted to think of himself as the master, but he is really a litter mate, he would sleep on the floor with her - it is his first dog, so i can understand how he feels. At least that's how he was before he got messed up by someone who should be a role model - once i get him home, Chelsea will be very happy. My mother adopted Chelsea's friend, so they are still together (we share a two story house) and really love each other like sisters.
I really can't imagine living without a dog - i grew up with them - all pound puppies. Guinness was MY first dog, she was with me for such a large chunk of my life - i'll post a picture of her and talk about how incredible she was someday - but Chelsea is family now - unconditional love and trust are such awesome gifts they give us. Thanks for your compliment - i'll let Chelsea know.">

Loving Chelsea - dogs smiling are the best.
Rob, will you post of photo of Piper near your feet or hands - I'd like to see how big she is compared to people. Except you probably won't be posting any more pictures of her. So never mind.0 -
So when will Piper be sleeping on the bed?!!!imalive said:

Hi Chelsea and welcome to the best thread in this place!
Dog smiles are wonderful. There was a show 'DogTown' that was on for just two years - it's a last chance shelter in Arizona or Utah. They had taken in a lot of the 'Vick' dogs and there was one who had been a fighter and wouldn't even make eye contact with other dogs. They did a bunch of things, and then played a tape of dogs exhaling while they played. It's the sound of dog laughter. I never even thought of that. It got all the other dogs attention and it actually was a breakthrough in the healing of this particular dog. So i always listen to my dog when she's playing cause she's laughing. :-j .Enkidu said:Loving Chelsea - dogs smiling are the best.

I thought the Piper was a rabbit when i saw the new picture of her by the fireplace. I used to have a rabbit - actually had a couple - but Dickens was an awesome rabbit - so it's a compliment.0 -
Piper is doing well. about 100% easier than Gracie. hell, I didn't even have a beer yesterday! we are not sleeping on the floor anymore. piper cried in her crate for about 15 minutes last night and then slept ALL NIGHT!
the other day, Piper was romping in the grass and got a little grass stain on her head. you can kind of see it over her right eye. and don't give me no shit about the Crocs....they are the "take the dog outside" shoes. If I had known then what I know now...

I will send you a PM on the weekend, I just saw this today, I haven't been on here much the last week, I have been crazily studying. Exams are over but I still have a busy few days ahead. Chelsea is just adorable :o30 -
