Most of my dogs have loved veggies and fruit. I didn't set out to feed them those things, just accidentally dropped something on the floor when I was cooking. Now I can't start to peel a banana without them running into the kitchen. Many years ago we had a dog that was crazy for grapefruit. Go figure.

My vet says that raw carrots are good for their teeth. So now I give them baby carrots for treats.

yes two years old today... time just flies...

been in touch with the other people and her siblings, they are all doing good and doing shows, mom got 1st, in best of breed in one of the shows this last year and her sister and brother has been getting first and second place in some of the shows they have been in.

yep, she has sure done the guinea pigs out of some food. I know onions and tomatoes are poison for dogs she did have a leek once and was suffering for a couple of days, but mustard powder and chillies, my oh my. I like hot spicey food but dogs?? :corn:

So far mine will eat any greens, along with carrots (baby carrots) have not tried a banana yet, but i'm sure she will eat that as well...

I wouldn't have thought that either. But I do know my dogs will make a dive for ANYTHING I drop on the kitchen floor, even coffee grounds. I have to keep an eye on them.

Amber, the last dobie i had was only into, and could only stomach dog food. Coco seems to want anything and everything. And will go to any means to get it :twisted: But dont i love her :roll:

I was slicing one to put on my cereal and dropped a piece. The rest is history.

We found out about the dog liking grapefruit because we had a compost pile in the back of our yard and I would throw the kitchen scraps out there. We kept finding grapefruit rinds all over the yard. So I watched one day and saw her climbing up on the compost bin to get the grapefruit rinds. After that, we would just give them to her before we threw them away.

We have a small apple tree that she can reach. Hence no apples for us.
