So do you guys know what those are? For those that don't.. they are called Cairn piles. Or just Cairns. They are used when topography is rough reading, and they mark a trail. However, recently I just keep finding them all over.. they are EVERYWHERE out here, even on very clearly marked and maintained trail ways. But never have I seen such a unique display of them, except here in the entrance to Red Red Canyon [ in Open Space] not Morrison. There are at least 20 Cairns piled all over this heap of rock shed. ( when the canyon walls shed rock they carry it out to this rock bed, to keep the trails clean.) was a very interesting display indeed; almost artistic in a way...
this is actually called the "aussie smile"....a sign of excited happiness.
