wow....it has seriously been forever and a day since I have been on this board.....and I miss it! Get wrapped up in Crack-book and other social media but I really miss the days of banter on this board.

I am sad to say both my girls are gone now. Callie passed 4/22/14, 69 days shy of her 15th birthday. Maggie, 14 as of 6/8/14, never recovered from the heartbreak of losing of her best friend of 14 years and we had to send her to meet Callie on 11/11/14. Their personalities were vastly different yet they were the best of friends to the very end. It was an insane, fantastic fun ride full of frisbee, doggie kisses, play dates, romps on the beach, wet dogs in my Jetta, snuggle time on football Sundays, laughs and tears when the end drew near. I miss them dearly and not a day goes by I don't think of them.
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

E, after my guy got over watching the gif of the bulldog rolling over and over, I showed him your photo and said you have two of them.

    "She has two husbands?"

Whizbang, many of us can relate to that love and loss. Are you sharing life with new pooches now?

How did this thread get so many pages back? :nuh_uh:

Here's something I got a kick out of earlier today. https://treatshappen.com/blogs/treats-happen-dog-blog/all-23-honest-breed-slogans-originally-published-by-barkpost It's "honest" breed slogans. You'll have to go to the link to look at them. They're too big to copy here, but just for Rob I'm posting the golden retriever.

    Great pic of Norm!

Sooo, for about a bazillion years I've been buying these kinds of rope toys for my dogs.

    image

Great for playing tug of war, fetch, and just gnawing on. Scout is nuts about them. For the first time ever, we have a dog that can chew through the knots.

    image

All our other dogs have destroyed objects we wanted to keep.

norm never liked toys, he'd just chew them to pieces, but he loves playing tug of war with the knotted rope. i make sure to never leave it where he can get at it because it will become shreds if i did
