if you are taking Norm/Gracie to Missoula, what are you doing with them while we are at the show...or in general? Someone is having second thoughts about boarding the dogs...

well i still haven't fully decided if he's going or not...right now, he can walk on his left hind leg and we're going to the vet tomorrow so hopefully it's nothing serious

but if he does go, he'll just hang out in my hotel room...norm is pretty chill like that (crosses fingers)

We took the dogs to George when we went to the SG show, and they were okay with us leaving the dogs alone in the room (and they did great, the manager said he didn't hear them all night)...the hotel in Missoula doesn't allow pets. All the boarding places in Missoula seem to require an 'interview' before they can stay there.

We have a minor league hockey team here (The Utah Grizzlies) and I remember one night last season or maybe the season before they had this event where if you brought records showing up to date vaccinations, and your dog was friendly you could bring them to the game. It was kind of like a "Bring the dogs out for fun" themed night.

I didn't go but was curious to know how it turned out.

Maybe PJ can adopt this idea? :corn: ;)

that would be awesome! Or do you think I could ask Jeff A if I can leave my dogs at his place for the night?

shouldn't be too hard to find...they let me bring Waldo into the bar...well, maybe it's because they all knew the barmaid.

How much would it take to get them registered as 'Service Dogs' I wonder...when was the last time you saw a service animal at a concert?

    Last shameless plug.

We need your dog photos for Hot Valley Writers, this tiny online lit magazine I help edit. And we've added a photo gallery - send us a picture of your fabulous dog and we'll make him/her famous. Well, sort of famous.

Come on, Lassie says it's a great idea.

Plenty of time to beat the Labor Day deadline and submit for the special Dog Issue of "Hot Valley Writers." Fiction, non-fiction and poetry about/with/by dogs. And we're including a photo gallery in this issue. So even if your dog can't write, they can be in the magazine.

A friend of mine posted this on FB, thought you girls might enjoy ;)

10 Reasons Why Dogs are Better Than Boyfriends.

They're great listeners. Whether you're dealing with a hard day at work, a jealous friend, or an over-bearing mother - you always have their uninterrupted attention.

Dogs are happy to skip the ballgame or bar night and stay in to "help" you cook. While boyfriends may be critical of your culinary skills, dogs will lap it up and beg for more.

They like you just the way you are. You can get a haircut, wear your sweats all day, go lip gloss free or gain a few pounds. But to them, you're perfect in every way.

You can almost always teach an old dog new tricks. Boyfriends, on the other hand, can take many years of coaching & still be unsuitable to take out in public.

Your mother will love your dog (she might even call them her grand-child). There's no approval needed when you bring home a new pup - she'll feed & spoil them - even if they cause a "stink".

Dogs love your friends and they're always down to hang with the girls. Bring along some treats and they're happy to join you on shopping excursions (especially if they can fit in your purse).

They love to snuggle up any time of day or night. If you're sick, they'll cuddle with you for hours and won't say a word about your current aesthetic state or the number of Kleenexes on the bed.

Dogs are happy to join in any exercise routine - and unlike a boyfriend, they won't judge your technique, try to time your reps, or correct your form.

They always let you watch what you want (but you might be sharing the popcorn). Plus, they won't ask you to explain why you love sappy chick-flicks or vampire dramas. The remote is all yours!

You're never too old for your dog. They'll never prefer a younger owner and they'll love you no matter how many miles on your clock, or wrinkles around your eyes.
    peace,
    jo
