i finally found a decent picture of holly. Two days ago (12/22/2011) marked one year since we had to put her to sleep

We miss you so much Holly, and you will always be in our hearts.

i got my boo back about 3 weeks ago.

A 16 year old acting like she's 12.

Seriously, I thought this was a shit year, and on a lot of counts it was shit.....

But my doggie telling me she wasn't ready to go yet with her eyes, hooked up to oxygen and all kinds of monitors and tubes...made up for whatever was negative this year...

Seriously, Bailey is my first dog...I really don't know how I will cope when she decides to go, but holy crap, she is sticking around and I welcome it...

Why don't they make dog toys more indestructible? This is Brian at the end of the night. He gathered his three new Christmas toys around him. The Rudolph toy is almost missing an arm, the sock monkey toy - let's just say I haven't seen it yet this morning. But I bet it was delicious.

well i'd love to show pics of norm with his christmas toys but i gave up on them about 2 months after i got him...no need to buy something he'll chew apart in a half hour...he can go out back and chew a stick...those are free :P

half of the toys have been torn apart, she is working on the 3 ropes now. the kong ball has held up really good, she is still trying to get that sqeaker out though.

the "stuff-less" toys aren't too bad....gracie still rips them open but with nothing inside, that's kind of the end of it

Those are Penny's favorites--good for tug of war, playing fetch, and regular old chewing. But she will eventually pull the tail from the body or chew the head off. :roll:

I feed raw for close to 5 years now and if for some reason I can't do that in the future, I will cook my own dog food. I don't trust the dog food manufacturers. Over the years I've had too many friends lose dogs that were very young to kidney failure, something is very wrong with that.

Thats horrible! I know people who feed their pets these brands, and Ive been trying to tell them for years, its no good. I once knew a vet and she told me in private that the foods that are sold at veterinarian offices (Iams, Eukaneuba and Science Diet), and promoted by the vets are there for a reason. Those pet food companies pay for the vets to go to school, and the vets in turn promote their product...knowing full well it is not the best option for your pet.

As soon as I found that out, both my dog and cat were off the Purina (loaded w/ by-products which are no good anyways) and we switched to Wellness brand. Both of them have improved skin, fur and energy. Its like night and day.
