Tip your hat to the kid...in yesterday's preseason finale, a 4-3 CTWhale victory over Worcester, Chris Kreider scored his first hat trick since high school.

Question for the Rangers fans. How do you feel about the Richards contract? As a (somewhat) disinterested observer I remember thinking last year that they drastically overpaid for him. I know sometimes guys need a year to adjust to new setting but I have the feeling he's getting about $3 million too much a year
    Boston 9-28-04, 5-24-06, 5-25-06, 5-17-10, 8-5-16, 8-7-16, 9-2-18, 9-4-18
    Hartford 5-13-06, 6-27-08, 10-25-13
    Mansfield, MA 6-30-08, 6-28-08, 7-2-03, 7-3-03, 7-11-03, 8-29-00, 8-30-00, 9-15-98, 9-16-98

too bad we wont get to compare this season with the past,

somehow it wouldnt seem so bad if they were actually playing .

And yes everything costs more in NYC,
& believe me all of the teams in the NHL benefit from the NY market.

50-50 split seems more than fair.
contingent on a full 82 game season begining in November.

there might actually be Ranger hockey soon,.. !

Gilroy has joined The Whale and Beaukeboom in CT.

In lieu of the lockout, I hope MSG Network airs some more of The Whale
since theres bound to be holes in their scheduling.
It will be so wild to see big # 23 behind the benches coaching.

Flashback Friday honors Rangers great Mike Richter, who made his regular season debut 23 years ago today in a victory against the Hartford Whalers.

Dylan McIlrath and Christian Thomas are back with a Holiday installment of their Insider series. This time they interview their CTWhale teammates about holiday traditions, favorite holiday presents and more.
    Watch here: http://nyrange.rs/UU5ckL

wonder if we will ever get to see these guys ( in particular McIlrath ) up
with " the big club" . Looking more and more ominous as the time slips by.....

Madison Square Garden underwent a massive refurbishing in the last year. During the summer, the New York Rangers’ various championship banners and retired numbers were re-hoisted to the rafters. Included among them: a 2011-12 Atlantic Division Champions banner, commemorating the Rangers capturing the division crown for the first time since 1994.

That’s right: Despite the lockout keeping NHL hockey off of the Garden ice since May, the Rangers still hung their title banner.

Question is: Would they even have had a banner raising ceremony if the lockout hadn’t happened?

We’ve had many a debate here on Puck Daddy about the value of division championships. For example: If you’re a Rangers fan, do you own anything commemorating the title considering the fact that the Blueshirts fell short of a conference championship, losing to the hated New Jersey Devils no less?

For an Original Six team, a division title banner raising really isn’t mandatory. Now, if the Florida Panthers squander a chance to have a banner-raising party for their first division title in franchise history … that’s another story.

Maybe they will still have some sort of ceremony when/if they ever come back?

Nah, generally they only have on ice ceremonies for Conferences , or Cups.

Besides, it's already hanging up on the big round ceiling.
Thats why its pretty funny, only Knick fans even get to see it.
