i like tom renney, but where the hell was his emotion lastnight?!
they kept showing him when it was 5-5 and he was as calm as could be. any other coach in the league would spitting with anger and ripping his players a new asshole.
jagr unable to slide that puck into an empty net in the shootout, just strengthened the fact that the man just cannot finish anymore.
Blueshirt BulletinFebruary 23, 2008 Time to Put a Hurting on Some Hurting Teams
The Rangers face the Buffalo Sabres for a second Saturday in a row after a week in which their rivals made up many if not all of their games in hand. With their one point in Montreal, the Rangers stayed even with Buffalo and Boston this week, and stayed one point ahead of the streaking Islanders, who have won six in a row.
Tonight in Buffalo and tomorrow vs. Carolina at the Garden, the Rangers are facing two hurting teams. Buffalo had a host of forwards miss practice yesterday, and though some of them will surely play tonight, one cannot expect them or the team as a whole to be at full strength. Likewise Carolina, who have done well (4-1-1 in their last six) despite losing Rod Brind'amour for the season and Cory Stillman in a trade. The Rangers, healthy except for Petr Prucha, who is a game or two away from returning, have to take advantage and put a hurting on these hurting teams.

See the Post, AP, and Buffalo News. Game preview at NYR.com. The Journal News and Newsday get Ranger player reaction to the approaching trade deadline.
