Maybe- just maybe- henrik should have come at the end of period 2.

but we'll see how this plays- or doesnt play- out.

Henrik's in now, and they just got a PP. Start praying for Jagr to net 52 to get us within 1.

NICE!!! About time. A good solid third period ties it up. Jagr nets 52 and an assist to tie both records, King Henrik was beyond solid and a much needed two points and a notch in the W column. Bring on the Isles!

    whew !!!!!

    what a friggin game !!!
total playoff atmosphere minus the shootout
( no shootouts in playoffs )
i cant help but feel bad for Weekes.
Looks like Jaromir will break the record out on the Island.
I guess thats okay, if it cant be done at home, then beating the crap outta them and Jagr breaking the record out there is fine .( * At least there will be as many NYR fans there as Isle fans ) --so in a way it is like a home game .
    any 10 dollar tickets, moster ? ;)
I hope to god that Darius is healed up quick- the defense just looks lost without him out there.

    sweet caroline!
Lets Go Rangers ( - the st at least for tonight )

    Hmmm

Watching the postgame at " Play By Play "
Stan Fishcler is on and he is extremely entertaining.

But , I was wondering- this Weds & Thurs we have road back to back games-

what does this hold for our goaltending situation?

Obviously, neither man can go back to back- who will play which game ?

This is a test for Renney- will be interesting to see how they play it.
Goodnight till tomm fellow Blueshirt fans .

Anyone else notice the Sabres slipping in the standings? Theres only 4 points seperating them from the fifth place team. They keep losing like this and they're not going to get home ice advantage in the first round. Nice.

What a great game. I was so pissed after the second and they came back in the biggest way. Awesome game. Can't wait for Wednesday on the Island.

I was thinking Weekes on the island and Lundqvist in Ottawa. Ottawa is a much better offensive team than the Islanders so we need our best goaltender against them. Also a mighty hip check or two from Kaspar would be good.

Damn, my brother is whipped! Tickets to tomorrow nights game at the Coliseum are on Ticketmaster for $30 a pop, and he'd rather go have a home cooked meal with his girlfriend! Shows where his priorities lie! He could see history in the making! But no!

    wow- i've got Ranger Hangover.
You know you're hooked when you're watching rewind at every possible moment.
How sweet was that # 52 from the side post ?
And what passes from the teammates.!
Amazing- 2 records shattered( or tied ) with 1 goal.
Another thing getting lost in all the hype-

King Henrik will be breaking his own record with his next win-
most wins by rookie goalie. 2 super records broken out on the Island-
that is unless we see Weekes back in nets out there.
I still cannot help but feel bad for Weekes-
the angry Ranger fans keep him from getting into the zone that he needs to be at home .

How about that stop Henrik made on Dumont
with less then a minute left- to keep it tied. ?
    This guy is unbelievable !

Gotta love that forechecking that Ruchin, Moore and Ortmeyer were doing also! Ruchin was bounced off the endboards like a pinball! That was sweet .

Now we have to hope that Toronto can snap out of it and handle the Flyboys for us tonight- I'll be watching the scoreboards tonight for sure .

that moore line did play an awesome game,,the cycle and forchecking on the 2nd goal was sick ,,orts even had a chance to change with the puck possession they had ..
tyutin give-away on the 3rd goal was horrible ,,trying to backhand away from the boards ,,big no-no even if it got by the first guy,,the d was there to keep that in,, either stop and keep the puck at your feet or try and reverse it... just don't do that up the middle shit

    AMEN !

maybe even try to " skate " away , hold onto the puck a few seconds ?
God we are missing Kaspar- hope he is back soon.
I saw him in the lockerroom postgame- during the usual sweet caroline procession.

i know u always mention the up the middle passes,, but it always needs to be reiterated (sp)
i agree ,,stop on the dime and reverse the puck either with a pass ..in which case u must hope for the opposite winger to get to the boards.. or try and skate it around .. in which case your probably going to get smashed into the boards, but at least u have a chance for support from a teammate

1 more thing- not really hockey related but still

did anyone catch the coaches comments postgame on the sportsdesk?

He said something to the effect of :

" Gosh I may have to wear this blazer again " ...

    &

" The guys keep calling me *Herb "

    * assuming thats Herb Brooks alla 1980s

He was obviously mocking himself and that blazer he was sporting ! Renney really has a great sense of humour, but also is extremely intelligent and well spoken. Have you ever heard some of the descriptives he uses in his post game analysis and interviews?
He really is an excellent coach- I remember first seeing him with Vancouver when Messier returned as an opponent to MSG as a Canuck .

This guy should definitely be considered for the Jack Adams Award/ Coach Of The Year.

    Kudos Tommy !

I really need to know if this club can go at least three rounds in the playoffs? Yeah, I know you will all say the cup is yours. But I do watch hockey too. And as the real pool season is right around the corner, I would like some input from you. I feel they are good for two rounds at least. But if they slip to fourth in the standings, they will have to face Ottawa faster then expected if all the top teams get through. Which would mean only two full rounds.

Right now, the question is, for us anyhow, can your( Toronto ) team:

    1 ) make the playoffs

2 ) beat the Flyboys tonight

My heart tells me a hot goalie plus the MVP means anything is possible for this team. My head tells me the defense isn't good enough (or tough enough) for a long playoff run.

I'll second that sentiment and add that it doesn't look like they're rushing Darius back, which is a good thing. Yeah they're struggling a bit now, but combine him getting healthy with Ozolinsh playing really well, and I think their defense will be better than we're giving them credit for. They just need to stop making stupid mistakes, taking dumb penalties and move guys away from the net.

yeah I'm sure the Islanders will be happy watching the Rangers celebrate on their ice- 1 ) Jagr breaking Rangers scoring record, and, 2 ) if Henrik is in goal ( It will probably be Weekes tho ) he will break the rookie goalie winning record for NYR also ( 30 ) .
Its just as good as a home game out at the masoleum. ( MSG east )
