he comes over and look what happens? That pesky matter with the Red Sox of which will shall not speak ;)

and bupkus since-we lost to Anaheim, and Detroit! DETROIT! (sorry SS)

Well, if this continues, and they go out quickly, and embarassingly again, then I really think it's time for Joe to go. I thought so last year too. I hope it doesn't come to that. I hope they peel off an 11 game winning streak starting tomorrow. But if somehow they end up losing this series ( I said a few days ago that this series would be the toughest series the Yanks would have this year, as I think the Indians are better than the Angels, Sox, and anyone from the NL) then Joe has to go. That would be 4 straight postseason embarrasments

i disagree. you said it yourself the indians are the best team in baseball. so losing to the best team is an embarrassment? that being said, i think they win this series.

maybe not an embarrassment this year. but the last 3 years were, and this year would be a failure at least.

You think who wins, the Yanks or the Indians?

I think Joe is done regardless of the outcome of the playoffs. The man needs a nap

What did you think of bringing in Ohlendorf tonight?

  • Just to clarify, by no means am I giving up on this series. I'm just pissed at Joe and the whole team right now. They need 2004 Pettitte tomorrow, the man who won 3 straight game 2's, all while down 0-1

why does torre need a nap? and who do you propose they bring in?

    I guess but it backfired
they were still close before they brought him in

Joe always looks tired to me. I think he's wiped out

who should they bring in? How about Mattingly or Girardi?

maybe from afar he does, but i think he's truly enjoying himself, especially these last few months.

actually i'd love to see torre manage through 2009 the first year of the new stadium and then turn it over to mattingly.

    interesting..

I think it depends on how things go and what George says

if we do lose again in the 1st round that doesn't bode well

it's more what his sons say and feel these days. but let's bring that aspect of the discussion back to the forefront if that does happen and hopefully it won't.

i'm looking forward to seeing andy pettitte pitch another big game two and not having to stay up to midnight to watch it.

i liked bringing in Ohlendorf there, but I thought he needed a quicker hook. He shouldn't have pitched to Lofton. And that's not a second guess, I wanted him pulled after the double, that was 2 straight balls that were hit hard. When he hit Garko, I started screaming at the TV.

they showed the bullpen from afar, and it looked like Veras was just starting to warm up.

torre is a sucka he stinks

get rid of him like ive been saying
  • Must win tonight. Agreed on the weird calls by Torre...
Why waste Hughes that many innings?? Why not put in Farnsworth?
They keep playing that flat and we'll be packing up Sunday.

Oh and...MATSUI is a DOG. Most overrrated, NEVER comes through with 2 outs, Never gets a big hit and is always in a position too.
Bench his ass. Duncan at DH. At least he'll bring some fire and energy to the lineup.

Whoa, 2 guys in 5 years.

That whole "I could win with a $200 mil payroll" argument is just about the stupidest argument in all of sports. It's not like the yankees start with a payroll of 0 and $200 million to spend, then cherrypick who they want on their team.

As for the homegrown agrument, I'd say the Yankees have more homegrown players than 1/2 of the league off the top of my head.
Yeah thats right the Yanks have only grabbed 2 guys from other organizations over the past 5 years.

Of course that means we just don't mention Randy Johnson, Pavano, Clemens redux, Pettitte redux, Abreu, Lidle (R.I.P.), Matsui, Farnsworthless, Betemit, Vizcaino, Molina and a host of others.

The $200Mil payroll allows the Yanks to cover up their mistakes like Unit and Pavano with band aids like Clemens, something most other teams can't do.
    This weekend we rock Portland
