    hey i agree...i wanted girardi.....i don't need some old guy whose time has passed....:)...we had that with grady

    The New York Daily News reported Wednesday that the Yankees have been negotiating to keep third baseman Alex Rodriguez in the Bronx.

    The Daily News added they would only negotiate with the two-time MVP if agent Scott Boras was not involved.

    "We will not negotiate with Scott Boras," a team source told the newspaper. "He cannot be in the room."

    During the fourth game of the World Series last month, Boras announced that his client was opting out of the final three years and $91 million of his contract. The Yankees reinterated their position that they would not negotiate with Rodriguez as a free agent.

    Rodriguez reportedly wants at least $30 million per season, and Boras told the Yankees that it would take a minimum offer of 10 years and $350 million just to talk to him.

    i would love to have a-rod on my team (your 2007 world series champions, the boston red sox) just not for an average of $27.5mil a season until he's 42.

    sadly, at least that's not as bad as $13.1mil/year for posada until he's 40 or the possible $15mil/year for rivera until he's 41.

    if boras is not to be involved, why a 10 year deal? if a-rod wants to be a yankee so bad, why not a 5 year deal with some option years? oh wait, it's all about the (guaranteed) money.
