It's midnight on the east coast, and if memory serves me correctly, there's a town in NH (Dixville Notch) that is casting their votes RIGHT NOW.

Here we go ....

can you imagine how long lines would be today if they didn't have early voting?

I'm curious to see how long the lines are in Pennsylvania, where there is no early voting.

I'm optimistic and hopeful, but we'll have to see. :) I'm not too sure that the polls are correct for numerous reasons. :( Tomorrow night will be interesting to say the least! :D

if anyone wants to read about Dixville Notch ...

    Midnight voting tradition
    Elections in New Hampshire

Dixville Notch is best known in connection with its longstanding middle-of-the-night vote in the U.S. presidential election, including during the New Hampshire primary (the first primary election in the U.S. presidential nomination process). In a tradition that started in the 1960 election, all the eligible voters in Dixville Notch gather at midnight in the ballroom of The Balsams. The voters cast their ballots and the polls officially are closed one minute later. The result of the Dixville Notch vote in both the New Hampshire primary and the general election are traditionally broadcast around the country immediately afterwards.

I can't believe this day is here. After all the shit of the last 4 years. I remember back in '04 being so disappointed Bush got elected and thinking 4 years is such a long time. A lot has changed for me since then.

I think it's going to be a lot like Christmas or the Superbowl ... the hype and anticipation is even better than the actual event ... and when it's all over ... no one will have any idea of what to do with themselves.

Dixville Notch, NH (AHN) - The town of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, with a population of around 75 people and only 21 registered voters, has picked Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) to be the next president of the United States. Obama defeated Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) by a margin of 15 votes to 6.

Dixville Notch, which opens its polls for voting at midnight Eastern time on Monday evening, has been the first town to tally its ballots in the country for decades.

During the primaries Republican voters in Dixville Notch picked McCain to win with a four vote majority; McCain also went on to win New Hampshire overall. Obama was also lucky in Dixville Notch, winning the 10 vote primary with seven votes - but ended up losing the Granite State to rival Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY).

Dixville Notch has a Republican history, voting for President George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004, while previously voting for both President George H.W. Bush in 1992 and Bob Dole in 1996.

I can remember 2004 I was dissappointed and CRUSHED but after a couple days I bounced back and figured there's going to be light at the end of this endless tunnel of BUSH.

The light might be shining tonight, get out and vote. I'm STILL hearing Rev Wright commercials.

    Total Votes = 427
    Obama- 75.87 %
    McCain - 24.12 %

EDIT: I live in Western Massachusetts. Pretty much most of New England is Democratic with exception to New Hampshire, a swing state.
