oh, and you claim now bush is a raging liberal....does that make you feel foolish that you got banned for flipping out when we posted pics of bush playing a guitar and eating a cake days after katrina and threatened to get a few other guys and beat up a girl....all in defense of a raging liberal?
Well, never let it be said CorporateHero isn't for equal rights....

There seems to be a common thread among mainstream Republicans to hoist Bush on to the liberal pile - as if all "liberal" means is "gov'ment does stuff." I can't say I blame 'em. I mean, who hasn't occasionally tossed trash into their neighbor's yard - or plowed a rusted Malibu through the side wall.

You guys really just need to rely on your own efforts instead of expecting the government to take care of you for everything.

The colonists were able to fend for themselves and they defeated the greatest empire in the world, at the time.

And neither of these points are untrue.

But we're not in colonial times anymore... you remind me of a 70 year old guy who keeps harping on the good old days.

Colonies (more like towns/settlements within the colonies) were able to fend for themselves because they were much smaller population-wise, and they were isolated, so they had to take care of each other. Besides just being more helpful people then, they had a stake in everyone's well being around them. If Jim's wife got sick, everyone pitched in and helped because Jim was the town blacksmith, so without him working they'd be screwed... If the Smith's farm burnt down everyone helped him because he was sold food that everyone needed, etc. Nowadays, if the corner store burns down, there are hundreds of other places to get what you need, so it's not a huge impact on your life and you are much less inclined to help.

unlike the war on drugs and war on terror? how much have they grown? how many new government jobs and laws have been created for them? how much money does it get and how much does it increase every year?

End the war on drugs for all I care.
