    Ya, I do...

He's 117 years old & conservatives hate him.

The only reason that Bush won in 2004 is because of the conservative/evangelical voter turnout, and the fact that he was running against a candidate that no one could get excited about. This time around it's the opposite.

stop lying to yourself..hes a war hero.. the only guy who could of defeated him is Gravel..both with ties to vietnam...a fine line between the two

instead its gonna be clinton or obama and no one knows what the hell they stand for... when the debates start and they ask a war hero about america..

I think he's going to lose and lose big. I'm a lifelong Republican as are most of my friends and relatives. Almost all of them have said they won't vote for McCain. At our Republican caucus he got exactly 1 vote out of 60. I've watched him in the debates and on the stump and he is not inspirational, motivational, or charasmatic. He will be up against this generation's Ronald Reagan. Our elections are a popularity contest more than anything else and he loses BIG to Obama. I see 60% -40% popular vote and a Reagan-Mondale liek landslide electorally. Obama has been running a near perfect campaign and I don't see what could possibly change between now and November to change that.

McCain has two chances. A terrorist strike in the US or a fixed election.

if this is the case... why is he going to be the nominee?? picture Obama up on stage and McCain up on stage

    and they ask the question

What is your stance on the Iraq war?

    Obama doesnt have one

    McCain does

you dont think this could look bad for obama in a national VERY VERY popular debate..
  • You are delusional...

\he is the perfect definition of delusional. his wild theories and strange, illogical posts seldom sound like they come from a sound mind. Either that or he's a troll.

    ban me i dont care.

Or a clinton nomination. Make that 3 chances.

  • Doesn't seem like you are interested in a debate, but here we go....

Unless they cheat again McCain has the overwhelming task of re-selling the war.

Mccain is also pushing change. A change from what? all the policies he's supported the last 8 years?

40 years in Washington has yielded a lot of good things, but he's also got a lot of dirt. He was one of the Keating five after all.

Under direct questioning the house of cards will fall.

however, McCain does have the one endorsement that really counts...

    Diebold.

ummm... right... Don't confuse you not knowing his stance on the Iraq war with him not having one.

In debates, Obama has stated that he will immediately begin drawing down troop levels at a rate of one to two brigades per month, with a goal of having all combat troops out in 16 months. He also said he would not build any permanent bases in Iraq, and only keep enough troops in the country to secure U.S. sites like our Embassy. Then, he would restructure our anti-terrorist actions so that they are primarily fronted by Special Forces. That's off the top of my head.

They both have plans, so you're wrong on that point. Whether Obama's plan earns him more votes than McCain's remains to be seen. But to say that there is no plan is - well, up there with saying the only person that could beat McCain is Gravel.

Obama doesn't have a stance on the war?

can I have some of what you are smoking?

    it's pretty simple

If Americans vote for "endless war" than we deserve what we get.

    what difference does that make?

fyi, the post above is why you are delusional. the american people have turned on the war. mccain cannot win on it. it gives him no advantage. the dems kill him on all other issues and the republicans don't like him. he's going to lose. big.

Ya know what, i give up. You're absolutely right. You, hillary, and everyone else who says this shit. You're fucking brilliant. Obama has no positions on anything. Nothing. He's a wind bag. He's been standing around with his thumb in his ass for the past 13 months drooling on himself and winning the support if millions americans and landing many high profile endorsements. i wonder how? The guy hasn't got one position on anything.

  • So you're bitter because your candidate isn't in the field anymore, so now you're going to support McCain?

No matter who the Democratic nominee is, I think they have the upper hand on John McCain.

Here's what I don't understand. Right now the Presidents nationwide approval rating is at 29%. So why the hell is John McCain running to embrace his policies? We'll just say the country is 50/50 between Dems and Republicans. That still means that almost half of the Republicans don't approve of the Bush policies either.

Flip flopping on the Bush tax cuts and torture is not the way to head into a general election. John McCain can talk all he wants about the surge working, but all it has really done is get the violence down to the level they were before the peak which caused us to send in more troops.

i would rather have obama than mccain but im not voting for either one...but im gonna remember this thread and these ridiculous replies and pull it back out in november.

    sheep.

and to the ridiculous.. obama hasnt made clear his strategy

his plan is to move the troops from iraq and spread them around the middle east

i dont know about you...but is this open ended to anyone????

    USE YOUR BRAINS!

facts.... its the only way to go people...anyone can call someone delusional...but the fact remains...

    obama doesnt have a strategy

    MCCAIN does...

this is going to make McCain president unless Obama starts being honest...this is the only way the democrats or any party can win... they werent honest in 2004 and they still arent in 2008...

dude... this makes sense to me and you... but when it comes time to vote..this country isnt going to vote based on history and facts

the majority are going to relate to an OLD WHITE MAN

this is your next president and is why i will state again

Gravel or Nader up against McCain are the only ones that could have beat him... Nader wont get air time and gravel has been silenced by a party who is content on losing another election... almost as if... the democrats are secretly republican trying to sabotage the election

    THIS IS NOT DELUSION

and we shall see come november
