The problem is that guys like Drury & Briere are great players in the regular season, but they don't step their game up in the playoffs like great players are supposed to.

if you don't think drury steps his game up in the playoffs...well, you seem to know what you're talking about on other points, so i don't want to call you out as a blithering idiot, but that was a pretty stupid statement. the dude is clutch. briere, we can talk...

it's kinda ridiculous to be lectured to by an ottawa fan on what it takes to win in the playoffs...what...it took alfredsson 10 years to figure it out? we are on year 2.

congrats to your team, b/c they are good...but spare us your expertise on rooting for a successful playoff team.
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
  • Buffalo definitely sharpened their Sabres in the last game. I was beginning to wonder which way things were going to turn.

Looks like Sens are up against the Ducks for the cup...

Ahh those mighty Ducks. They only have one Canadian...good to see Canada isn't essentially playing against itself for the cup this year. :p
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Haha. I don't know about the rooting expertise, but good post. I stand by my Drury statement though. He was pretty much invisible for the whole playoffs. I would expect more out of a team captain than what he brought to the table. You're right about Alfreddson taking 10 years though, so maybe Drury will figure it out. I really don't think that Drury has what it takes to step his game up and carry a team though. Everyone knew that Alfreddson could do that. It was just a matter of if he would. My respect of Ryan Miller has shot through the roof from watching this series, however. I thought that he was just a regular goalie who was benefitting from playing on a great team. If not for him, Buffalo would have been completely embarrassed in this series.
