Bullshit...we might just dress Peters to go one on one with Emery!

If we do beat the Rangers, I'm headed to Ottawa for a either game 3 or 4!

There is no heart on that Sabres team for some reason. They looked bad against the Isles and they have looked worse against the Rangers (up until the last minute of game 5). That come from behind win should give the Sabres that extra jump that they have been missing though. We'll see today -- if they come out on fire, I'll give the Sabres a game (2 if they dress Peters) against the Sens. I'll probably hold off until the Cup final to go down to see another game in Ottawa.

We'll see if NY pulls out any silver bullets for the Playoffs :D

I'm betting Sens v.s. Rangers for Stanley Cup 07.

Should be a corker...Hi-o silver away!

    That is impossible.

Either the Rangers or Sabres will play the Senators in the Semi-Finals (Third Round) and the winner of that series will go on to the Stanley Cup Finals; against the Ducks, Sharks or Red Wings.

The Rangers have been the better team in this series, 95% of the time. Sabres should consider themselves lucky to have a 3-2 lead in the series.

Exclude three major mistakes by the Rangers and the dispicabley lop-sided officiating, and the Rangers probably already would have this series wrapped up or they would be up three games to one.

That tying goal in Game Five with seven seconds remaining, should have never counted. Zubrus (of the Sabres) practivcally raped Girardi (of the Rangers, in the corner and on the way to the crease. Girardi gets crosschecked down from behind, away from the puck.

Then the Zubrus holds his stick (took two tugs for Girardi to get his stick loose). Followed by a blatant Hook and a stick across the front of Girardi's body.........where he obstructed Girardi for three strides! That's four blatant infractions in an 8-10 second sequence of play. Yet the Refs refused to call a penalty and simply let the play develope.

It's relevent because in Overtime the same Refs who permited Zubrus (of the Sabres) to get away with such blatant infractions, decide to call Jagr (of the Rangers) for a extremely mild brush of the stick......on a Sabres arm.

That wasn't even a Hook. Jagr's stick barley grazed the guy's arm and Jagr's stickblade wasn't even turned into towards the middle of the body. Nor did his stick ever break the treshold of coming across the body. it wasn't a Hook and it certainly didn't obstruct the Sabres player in any way, shape or form. It was a mild graze that barely even touched the Sabres' arm.

So how do you justify these Refs pemitting Zubrus of all those infractions during such a vital and significant last few seconds of a game, yet, call Jagr for what was basically....nothing?

I really hate to harp on the officiating, but these Refs have been digustingly biased or irresponsible in the way they have called this series. It's horrible.

    Case in point:

Ryan Callahan chases down the Sabres puck-carrier, takes an elbow to the head and the genius Refs call Callahan for a " Hold"

    What a joke.

After watching todays game I can't see Buffalo taking a game from Ottawa. The Sabres don't have what it takes this year.

Haha. You have to get shots on Emery to score on him. And Ryan Miller isn't exactly Martin Brodeur. This will be 4 and out. The Sabres could win the series if they find some heart. I don't think they have it in them.

What's the series at? The Sabres are done. They know it, and they are playing like it. Aside from 10 minutes here and 5 minutes there, the Senators have completely dominated the Sabres through 2 games. It hasn't even been close.

The funny thing here is, the Refs continue to permit the Sabres to Hold, tug/pull, grab, set up picks, obstruct and generally commit every infraction in the book; with minimal response (actually calling the penalty).

Perfect example was when Paul Gaustad, in the First Overtime, along the boards, about half way between the Red Line and Sabres Blueline; not only grabs and pulls on a Senator player trying to chase the puck into the Sabres' zone, but completely grabs a hold, maintains the Hold and pins him against the boards; all this with the puck in the Sabres zone.

A blatant cross-check when they (the Sabres) pulled their goalie in the Third Period and just before scoring the tying goal.

These are just two of several dozen similar infractions the Sabres are permitted to commit; in every game and every series in this year's Playoffs.

With as much latitude as they have been given by the Refs, and that's a whole lot of latitude; the Sabres should have breezed through their the first two series, if they were any where near as good as the NHL, their media and the Sabres fans think they are.

Sabres simply aren't that good. They have benefited greatly from the biased, lop-sided and preferencial officiating by the NHL, who are desperately trying to weasel their Gary Bettman's New NHL Poster Boys all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Fortunately, the Senators are too good a team and thus far have proven the ability to not just overcome the Sabres; but also overcome the blatant agenda-driven, dispicably-biased officiating.

The Sabres are in deep trouble here and unless the Refs take their already lop-sided Sabre-favored approach to officiating - to an even more disgusting low; the Sabres are done.

I don't think that the reffing has been overly biased towards the Sabres, but I really did like the fact that they basically put the whistle in their pockets in OT last night. That is what NHL playoff OT should be. Having 5 power plays in OT is not right in the NHL playoffs. I fucking hate watching power play hockey. The only thing worse than watching power plays all night is watching 5 seconds of a Detroit Red Wings game.

It would be nice to see this finished neat and tidy in four games and then on to the Cup :D:D I do hope the Sens continue to play such a solid game. :)

The Stanley Cup would be such a nice sentiment on top of already winning the world cup ;):D

Pretty brutal deficit... It's not that Buffalo has no heart..the Sens are a hard gig to outshine.

Sweet though...guaranteed finals. Might have to make the drive out to see a few...

They didn't really look like they were trying until the end but I think you are right the Sens played so well that it was hard to catch up. I think if the Sabres didn't have Miller the score would be a lot different.

Meh, but what do I know about hockey. I am just a girl :p

Lucky that you live within driving distance. I had to catch a plane to catch one of the Jersey games. I'm thinking about trying to go to one of the Cup finals games. It would be easier to get tickets in Anaheim I would think (I hope that fucking boring-ass Detroit doesn't lull another team into losing).

Thuinder Bay... yeah man ...that's a stretch... You're practically in Winnipeg!

So...tonight's the night. I'm feeling good! I want Detroit to fall off, it's the crime capital of the US afterall...and besides, it would give me a reason to visit friends in LA as an option.

    9pm est....hey-ho let's go...

    damn straight yo...

ottawa is a superior team...it's not that we have no heart..this is hte first time buffalo has been the favorite...it's tough...i've mocked ottawa for choking, but i can see how it's tough, especially for a team that has never been in that position.

"fans" here in buffalo are making me sick. anyone who think's the players don't care, or don't have heart, are undoubtedly projecting their own gutlessness, and failure to face adversity on the teams they root for.

sens are rolling...good luck to you all.

The problem is that guys like Drury & Briere are great players in the regular season, but they don't step their game up in the playoffs like great players are supposed to. They have done it their whole careers and that is why they were expendable on their old teams. You are never going to get playoff-calibre play out of Afinigenov, Vanek, Hecht, etc. Miller is the only guy on the Sabres who is playing like he means it. He is the only reason that the Sabres got by the Rangers and he is the only reason that these games against the Sens have been somewhat competitive.
