This is a ridiculous "barfight". It shouldn't even be a question of how effective condoms are, they work to reduce the risk to 2% or less. If it wasn't for far right fundamentalist Christian tards like OLS, that would be operationally true. But because they stifle education of proper use of condoms, someone like OLS is gonna run into major difficulties with them. It's also ridiculous to put complete trust into condoms alone, but it doesn't make them useless.

This shouldn't even be a matter of discussion. The only people that seem to disagree with contraceptive are these far right-wing religious fanatics.

Um, really ahnimus, it's very hard to take you seriously when you stoop to wild assumptions about people and name calling. I'm a bit disappointed in you to be honest. Suppose you'll turn your vitriole onto me now.

Perhaps OLS has had more experience with condoms than you? Being older and all. Just a thought. :)

You know what would really stop the spread of AIDS? If people with AIDS stopped having sex with people who don't.

Nah lets all fuck like crazy till everyone has it. There's a genetic condition that some people have that makes them immune to aids (the gene it effects is inactive I believe). So when all of the normies die out we'll be immune as a species. 100%.

It's actually not an assumption, from abortion, to foreign policy, condoms. OLS fits the bill of a religious fundamentalist.

As for condom use, hmm, well I've been through quite a number of them and never had a problem. OLS had 6 consecutive problems, it sounds like misuse to me.

Yea, cause when people get aids they light up like a neon sign so it's real easy to tell who has it and who doesn't.

And Jeanie, OLS has said he has four kids, one stillborn, and one abortion from broken condoms. It would lead someone to believe that he doesn't know the proper way to use a condom, which leads to inaccuracies in their argument about them.

Obviously it's a bodily fluid and quite clearly it's not what I was refering to. I was responding to the bodily fluids you mentioned. If you put my quote in context that would be apparent.

What context? I never mentioned anything other than "bodily fluids". Blood is certainly a bodily fluid.
Correct, but you are at lower risk if you have vaginal intercourse and if you use a condom. Your risk then of getting HIV is decreased to less than 2% if you were in contact with an HIV carrier.

    I don't disagree with this.

You and others here are asking "where's the discussion"? Here's a simple answer:

The discussion is not about whether or not condoms help slow the spread of aids (they do). They do not, however, "stop aids". Regardless, the discussion is about whether or not it's my responsibility to save you from your choices. I'm not interested in giving you condoms. That's the discussion.

I agree, but it's not likely to happen. I'm sure many people find out they have HIV and don't tell their partners. Chances are they are so addicted to sex that they'd rather risk someone else's life than give up sex entirely.

I shouldn't have to say that I don't condone that behavior, but ultimately I'm going to come across and a sympathizer to all the free-will addicts on this board.

That sounds like a good idea in theory. But what if you had AIDS and you fell in love with someone who didn't?

Probably because of your myopic view of responsibility.

I'll have to get into sociology and cultural evolution, brain-mind coherence and developmental psychology to explain why it's important that society provide education and so on to developing youth. But you still won't believe it. Something to do with your brain I suppose.

Hehe...if it's "myopic" to have no personal interest in providing condoms, what is it to have no personal interest in buying your own?

You can get into those things all you want. And I'll probably believe anything you say about them, so long as they're consistent with fact. What I won't believe is the ridiculous logical leap you'll make from those things to me giving you condoms.

you're not doing it right if you're not breaking condoms. or you're just small.
and if you're not using your tounge you completely missed the plot. try putting a condom on your tounge.

God doesn't exist, and is by no means a valid argument.

why do you always bring up God when you're backed into a corner? i haven't read EVERY post but i know i never brought up the subject of God.
Absent mindedness is not the fault of the latex. For future knowledge, don't keep your condoms in your wallet, especially in your back pocket. Purchase condoms when you intend to use them, don't keep them laying around for years. Don't be ignorant.

i've never put a condom in a wallet or a pocket. i'd buy a dozen at a time and always bought the best. frankly; they're much too tight and i believe it's the streaching of the latex that causes the breakage.
on another note; the company i ran in chicago made the molds on which the latex was formed. i can teach you quite a bit about condoms and how they're made.

    not in the slightest.
  • not in the slightest.

Then you are beyond ignorant of condoms. First off, it doesnt matter how big or small you are, there is a condom for you. Secondly, condoms are ran through a series of tests more rigorous than anything you can put them through. And thirdly, there are female condoms you can put on the vagina so you can do oral and still be safe. No wonder you've had so many bad experiences with condoms. You do know they go on the penis right? They're not going to work if you put them on your fingers.

No, it isn't. But I bet people would be a lot better off if they practiced monogamy.

Right on. I don't really see monogamy as a religious thing, just a part of being a good person. Be faithful! Also it's DEFINETLY not healthy activity to be sleeping around.. Abstinance is irrational and completely impractical, but monogamy is a pretty good way to go.
