He must be ill or otherwise incapacitated, because for you to speak such words begs that he swoop in to oppose you.

I'm guessing he went off somewhere to ponder reality, and will emerge with the knowledge of determinism. Or maybe he's just taking a break.

self praise is no recommendation you know.

and the fact that you've told us your intent is to mastermind the perfect crime makes whatever crime you commit no longer perfect. :)

Sorry, it was a joke. It was a play on the Leopold-Lobe murder of Bobby-Franks. I should have guessed not many people are familiar with the murder.

Richard Lobe had an IQ of 210 and masterminded this plan to abduct a child for ransom and kill the child as well. His plan failed when they found Bobby's dead body in a culvert before delivering the ransom money. Ultimately it was a really stupid plan. Lobe didn't consider anything about the plan, except the self-gratification of commiting the perfect crime. He knew Bobby but didn't care to kill him, it was just a cost of achieving his dream.

I'm obviously not like that, just using it in reference to make a joke, a bad one at that. :)

It was quite a shocking crime for the time. Sadly it is pretty much routine now. I believe it was the car they rented that was their undoing as they actually used their own name or something.

i am fully aware of leopold and loeb. perhaps like them ahnimus you're just a little too arrogant for your own good sometimes. remember if more than one person knows, it's no longer a secret.
failing to consider the plan in its entirety negates any crime's status as perfect. seems even the most intelligent people can lack commonsense.

From what I understand they used a supposed name. When they were interrogated they said they had taken Lobe's car out to watch birds. But the police questioned his Chauffeur and found out that he had been washing Lobe's car during that time. Then they made the connection to the rental. Leopold and Lobe spilled their guts about the crime. Leopold mostly kept his mouth shut, but Lobe bragged and bragged about how genius his plan was.

Well, obviously I'm not Lobe, I'm not masterminding a plan, I was being arrogant out of jest, I thought that was apparent.

Well I did say or something... :p I could only remember that it had something to do with the rental car and it was also easier to track(they were a connection to him I mean not just the car) as they knew Bobby. I think Leopold and Lobe are a fairly well known case..

I'm surprised I didn't know much about them. Maybe because it was a UK murder. Also it was a single murder. Typically I read up on mass murderers and serial killers.

I was actually reading about Clarence Darrow and I stumbled across their case file on crimelibrary.com and found it very fascinating. The human mind is all screwy, I tell you.
