I thought the rules stated that the band must be together for a min of 25 years? Am I wrong about this??

Anyways- I think it'd be cool if someone like Tom Morello gave the speech....

Crap am I looking forward to this happening! :D

At least 25 years from the release of their first recording I believe. That would make it 2016 at the earliest. But it may not happen until some years after that.

you don't think they're first ballot inductees?

I've always wondered if past members of bands being inducted are invited to the ceremonies. In Pearl Jam's case, guys like Dave A. and Jack Irons are a very important part of their history.

Being that it is 8 years away at least, it will probably be a band that doesn't exist yet but will be huge 8 yrs from now. But, if that's not the case, my vote goes to dave grohl, jerry cantrell, or chris cornell.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

I personally would think so. But bands like Queen and Aerosmith, and others such as David Bowie and Eric Clapton didn't go in when first eligible. And it was 36 years I think before Black Sabbath went in...by their own choice I believe

From that list, absolutely. My point is though there are a lot of worthy artists who have to wait a few years.

    Neil Young (returning the favor)
    Bruce Springsteen
    Michael Stipe (returning the favor)
    Bono
    Pete Townshend

Any of those would be acceptable

Should be another musician though, not an actor

I think it's usually a younger artist -- somebody who's been influenced by the inductee...
