Both candidates were briefed by the Whitehouse...apparently something is going down in 6 months or so. Then there are reports of US soldiers being trained to deal with domestic issues. So something is going to happen, according to the Whitehouse and their policy, very soon.

Biden simply thinks Obama can handle it. That's it.

My thread is pointing out the importance of the meaning behind Biden's words that he said with such conviction. The fact that Biden mixed in a "i think he can handle it" was not MY point.

I've been pretty careful to state that I'm an independent conservative, so there's no secret where I'm coming from.

I'm pretty sure what he means is that Obama has an obscene amount of work ahead of him and he is going to be criticized and tested indefinitely until he has fixed our global problems and that will only demonstrate Obama's sound nature that Biden has been supporting during this campaign.

Okay, I can't believe that a veep candidate would say something that sensitive. I mean, if intelligence suggests we're going to have a crisis in six months, would somebody like Biden really come out and talk about it? then politicize it by selling Obama?

Just not adding up, but I'm still waiting for some more info. I've been looking and can't find it.

THAT may be the absolute difference between Obama-Biden and all other admins. There is a compelling sensitivity behind their statements and speeches that I do not see in McCain-Palin, inparticular. I notice it all the time and that this sensitivity comes from who they are as people and will color what they can do in the future.

your partisan bs doesn't change the fact that we've had 8 years of what is by now pretty much accepted as the worst president in history. and you want to elect a member of his party, someone that voted for his policies 95% of the time. not me.

Looks like a Wikipedia entry copied verbatim to me. Except the last 2 sentences of course. Biden isn't full of shit. Anyone who thinks he was somehow warning of an attack is though. I didn't see or hear any implication of an attack in his statement. Crisis doesn't necessarily mean attack. That's only in the fear mongering world of the extreme right.
