It's far too complex a situation to solve by bombing. You can say you don't want to invade or occupy Iran - and I can say I don't want to drown when I jump off a moving ship in the middle of the ocean. In both scenarios, our actions betray our stated desires.0

jlew24asu wrote:I have no problem engaging them from Iraq. destroying nuke sites and training camps is the goal. not to remove the regime or occupy the country.0

RainDog wrote:If we don't remove the regime and occupy the country, do you think they'll ever stop engaging us in Iraq? And if they never stop engaging us in Iraq, and it is our stated goal to "stabilize" the region, you've essentially written up the receipe for unending occupation of at least one of those countries.0

i think we need to get control of our country and try to lead by a peaceful example before we start pointing fingers and sabre rattle at regimes that are doing on a small scale what we have been doing on a grand scale
how can a coutnry with 10,000 nuclear weapons, and still developing nuclear weapons advocate a military strike against another country for the same reason?
we are the threat, whether you believe it or not. we are capable of destroying the entire planet in less than 1 hour, and i need to be concerned with iran? i call bullshit0 -
jlew24asu wrote:we would turn that country into a parking lot with ever setting foot inside the country.
does this make you feel like a man?
this is the type of ignorance humans, especially americans, need to leave behind. it is just fucking sad and pathetic

the american military would destroy Iran in days. and china and russia. got it now guys?
and again
apparently you are a fan of MAD... Mutually Assured Destruction. china and russia could "destroy" our beautiful country in hours as well, considering they have many nuclear weapons currently targeted on our major civilian populations
jlew, i know your a smart dude, so i figured you would have seen by now that military solutions are highly innefective.
the tough guy, "our military can kill you" is so fucking childish.
the United States of America has the military capabality to destroy most, if not all of the planet. YOU REALLY THINK THAT IS SOMETHING TO BRAG ABOUT?0 -
jlew24asu wrote:not saying i'm proud of it and condoning massive military power. just stating what I believe to be true.
get off your moral high horse, k.
you are coming across as though you are a 5 year old bragging your dad could beat up the other kids dad. this shit isnt a game. if we are not careful we will lose the whole fuckign thing. peopel scoff, mostly because they are hiding their head in the sand when it comes to the current nuclear situation in the world
and i will not get off my "high horse"... i will never sit back and watch people rah-rah military action and war like it is a game of risk. and i hate the fucking tough guy "our military" bullshit. too many fucking war movies for these wanna be tough guys.
Honor veterans, wage peace
and for the record, you are the one on the moral high horse... thinking the US should intervene with the military any time it feels appropriate. not to mention the high horse you have whipped throughout this thread about your precious fucking killing machine... talk about hypocricy :rolleyes:0 -

on the flip side, we could bomb any country without them even knowing we were there. no bragging, just stating fact.my2hands wrote:jlew, i know your a smart dude, so i figured you would have seen by now that military solutions are highly innefective.my2hands wrote:the United States of America has the military capabality to destroy most, if not all of the planet. jlew24asu wrote:we have a missile defense system. and no emeny aircraft can get near our borders to drop a bomb. so yea, they may have nukes, but hitting us with them isnt that simple.

if I were in charge, I would happily sit down and talk to the Iranians. I dont want one more solider to die
no I dont. and again, I'm not bragging. just stating the fact that we are, by far, the most powerful military on earth .
Seriously pull your fingers out your ears and stop going lalala i'm not listening, it's so boring now.
America is not infallible.Keep on rockin in the free world!!!!
The economy has polarized to the point where the wealthiest 10% now own 85% of the nation’s wealth. Never before have the bottom 90% been so highly indebted, so dependent on the wealthy.0 -

jlew24asu wrote:is Iran the same as fighting in a jungle? that was also 40 years ago. not to mention a little war in between then and now called the cold war. an arms race the the US won.
I'm going out on a limb here and assume you know that the "Cold War" was not an actual war. I'm also going to slide out a little further and hope that you realize just because the Berlin wall" is gone, the Cold War didn't end. Intelligence gathering and spying is a "never ending quest". The more information a person has the more power and in control they presume they are.
I use the word "presume" because you seem to think the U.S. won the arms race and won the Cold War, WRONG! Correct me if I'm in error, don't other countries have nuclear technology? Don't other countries have satellites orbiting the planet? Don't other countries have a space program?
Talk about jungles, you might want to go back and see how well we did in Somalia 1992, a supposedly goddamn nation of starving people with spear sticks against Black Hawk choppers and U.S. military ground forces. Don't be so arrogant to think that people won't fight back just because we are Americans. We never got over that embarrassment, that is why we are back in Somalia now. While you're looking this information up, check out who we are supplying weapons to in an attempt to keep the appearance of our hands being clean.SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.0 -
jlew24asu wrote:did I say they are? one way to do damage to the american military is to plant remotely detonated bombs. its working very well in Iraq. feel better now?
It's not about being happy, it's about all the posts you've made in this thread, which do come accross as thinking america is infallible which indeed it is not.
