Britain has a lot of shitty things about it too.

But, I won't need to worry about all that in 50 years when Muslims outnumber you. Honestly, London is like a third world country now.

Britain does have a lot of shitty things about it. One of which is our spineless, deceitful, sanctimonious Prime Minister. On a plus side though, I'd say that the press is a lot freer in Britain and that politicians can't get away with as much as politicians in the U.S. I still think there is a lot of work to do though. Our record of selling arms to dangerous regimes is nothing to be proud of. Neither is abstaining from every U.N resolution critical of Israel, among other things. Tony Blair has certainly done his best to make Britain as hated in the world as Bush and co have done with America.
About your other point, I don't care, as I plan on emigrating.

A little off topic here, but if Muslims hate the west so much, hate our lifestyle and the fact we allow people to practice any religion they choose or choose not to practice, then why do they immigrate to the western countries? And why do we allow it? And the ones that immigrate to the west do not like us.

Me thinks you generalize. Although if they move here for anything, it's money and a better life.

Yeah right, then when you move to a new country and leave your shit hole behind then don't bring the shit hole of a countries problems with you.

I think at least 98% of those people move because they want a better life.....I have yet to meet a person of Muslim faith who "hates" their western country....hell most move here to better their's, and more importantly, their families life.

A lot of young college Muslim students are sent here for education while their famalies remain behind because they cannot afford to make the move over......

Well if your figure is correct that 98% move here for a better life, then what are the other 2% up to. However I doubt there is any actual correct numbers that tell us how many move here for a better life. However I would love to see us drastically reduce immigration from the middle east and restrict immigration to those who actually have a skill we as a country need, and I don't consider running 7/11 a skill we need.

What I said about america is just the truth, it just is. So because I pointed this truth out that means I have a self-rightous attitude? you are an ignorant american....j/k

Now you see, I don't expect america to be perfect like you said I do in your post, but when you have a country that claims to be so good, then go around spreading that goodness around the world by the means of bombs, invasions, backing of corrupts governments and leaders.

Remember now, a huge amount of the american population have supported these digusting wars. so it's not like the government went around and did it behind everyones back.

Sure just about all countries are corrupt, but america, she's on another level.

What about England? Last I checked they were right along side of us in this war...their money is going to bombs just like ours. To say that America is the most corrupt country is just ridiculous...obviously you know nothing about Mexican politics! lol
As far as the people surporting this war, yes it is true, they did support it at first. We later found out that we were deceived by our govt. but you shouldn't blame the people for that. Remember we were attacked and there was a lot of emotion going on and when the govt. points the finger and says these guys are to blame, it's easy to get on board...I think the people of any country would have done the same thing giving the circumstances.

I was just tossing up #'s.....forget about reducing immigration from Middle Eastern countries....how about reducing immigration completely across the board....in Canada it is way too easy for people to get into the country regardless of where they are from.....however we lack doctors and there are those that do have the required education that still cannot get into the country.....there are numerous pro's and con's backing either side of immigration.....very tough to manage I believe....

That is why people should think first before acting....in the case of 9/11 there was no thinking by a lot of people.....just revenge revenge revenge revenge......

Most of the planet could see that going to war was a bad idea, it's not like americans did'nt have all the info, they just chose not to educate themselves.

When Spain was attacked, 3 days later they voted for a new leader, they did'nt rally behind the spanish flag, they saw the reason for the attack and decided to do something about it. When america got attacked the population turned to sheep and was ready to do whatever the government wanted, including giving up their freedoms.

I can live with a huge reduction in immigration to this country, as far as doctors go, your right, huge shortage, watched a special on the news that said many Canadians are forced into US med schools because there is no space in Canadian med schools, lets create a lot more spaces and train our own doctors from our own schools and not have to rely on foreign doctors so much. I recently had the opportunity to have a Pakastani doctor who came to our community, saw hera few times, got into a dispute with her about me wanting to see a specialist and had to fight with her to get to get to a specialist. She finally sent me to a specialist, then 2 months after that she sent me a letter saying she was dropping me from her practice, it's like I bruised her ego or something. It did not matter though, by this time I had decided to go to a walk in clinic anyways. I think if we set some goals we could have lots of Canadian trained Doctors.

and what's sad is that since 9/11/01 America has done nothing to solve the problems that caused the attacks, they only have created more of them and to top it all off decided to build a couple of new towers in NYC, towers that will stand even higher than the old towers. Now one day if those towers are again brought down, what will americas reaction be?

Yeah lack of "seats" for education also goes way beyond medicine....for that matter we have such a huge shortage of trade workers, especially in the West (due to Alberta's boom) and yet Tech. schools do not try to open up more class space.....to me its like money in the bank.....more students equals more cash to the school....regardless if you need to hire a couple more teachers....I have had no problem with foreign doctors....hell my old physician used to work as an engineer in Iraq under Saddam...had the damn picture of the bridge he built in his office....pretty neat...also had nothing good to say about Saddam.....not a bad dude though....engineer and doctor pretty impressive.....the entire more seats for education kinda of follows the same line as the need to build more refineries in our country.....

Aren't they only builiding one tower in place of the two that fell? Really? You don't think destroying Al Queda in Afghanistan and now working to do the same in Iraq, and making air travel in the U.S. safer, is nothing to solve the problems that led to 9/11. While we haven't figured everything out we have at least made some progress.

yes, maybe only one, nevertheless the point being that they are quick to build another tower(s) (surrounding structures also) yet not do anything to prevent more destruction, just add to it.

    and , no.

You did'ny destroy al quieda in afghanistan, you did however destroy many villages. Iraq had nothing to do with al queida until after the war. no, I do not call this progress.

Unless you call unprovoked attacks (ie. Iraq) as helping protect America....bullshit working to do the same....Iraq is such a mess I do not think anything simply than leaving will turn the tide....

They're building one tower, the Freedom Tower

edit: Come to think of it, they might be buidling a few other towers as well, but not as impressive.

I'm not saying everything is great post 9/11, but you have to admit progess has been made. You wouldn't consider air travel being safer progress. You must know the people who are designing the new tower, if you know that nothing is being done to prevent a similiar occurence from happening again. I find that suprising.

While Al Queda might still have a presence in Afghanistan, it is nothing like it was pre 9/11. Your right Al Queda and Iraq were hardly, if at all connected before the war, but they are there now, and we are destroying them.

Maybe I just see the glass half full. I see progress being made, even if it is slower then everyone would like.

It's like this, America takes one step forward then two steps back and calls it progress.

They can put lasers on the "freedom tower" to shoot down missles, they can spend another whatever trillions on wars, this is still gonna do nothing to help them in the long run. I'm talking about ending the cause of this terrorism america faces. look at the israeli/palestine issue in a fair way, be just, no more supporting dictators and corrupt governments. That is progress. anything short of that is standing still, any military actions thinking that it'll resolve these problems are the steps backwards.
