Ed showed his support during his solo tour, while talking about how movie and music stars shouldn't publically participate in political pandering, a large Obama '08 poster was walked across the stage behind him :)

it got a large round of applause at the three shows I went to.

At the Berkeley show, there was a HUGE Obama poster. It's awesome and, as usual, Ed rocks and his politics inspire me.

I don't think it has been said here, but it's worth saying ... that people are judged on the basis of race, whether any of you realize it or not. I know many people who voted for Obama during the primaries (myself included) because of his campaign of hope and thoughtful politics. His friends are radicals that I admire. That said, it is also true the having a person of color in the 'white house' is certainly one small part of creating a movement of change in this country and, arguably, the world. The only people who can be 'color blind' are generally those who benefit from the serious inequities among racial groups. So, Ed's comment ... not 100% sure of what he meant, but I take it to mean that it would be a radical and needed change to disrupt the longstanding trajectory of who enters the white house ... generally privileged white men.

Ed is not supporting Obama cause he's black, he's supporting Obama cause he's not McCain. Which, somehow, makes it so much better.

I look up to Ed and everything, but on this particular topic, I'm sad to see him supporting someone like Obama and trying to justify it to himself by telling himself that "it's ok.. he'll be different..." when he clearly won't... It just makes Ed look like another leftist...

Maybe, just maybe, Ed wants McCain to pick Bobby Jindal as his running mate.

This election is going to be an embarrassment.

Whoever supports Obama will have to overly-explain why they are not just voting for him b/c he's black.

i wont have to explain shit

Are you actually saying you're voting for him because he's black?

you better be careful, i've seen ppl make similar comments here and they were called racist biggots...but i guess you being an obama supporter they will look the other way....

but what hopeful and thoughtful politics?

-taking money and giving jobs to lobbyists then lying about it on national tv?
-having troops in iraq still in 2013
-maybe 25% renewable energy by 2025
-shitty health care plan (which is the same as we have now, just you have an option to buy a plan from the government if you can't get one elsewhere)
-a foreign policy like reagan and bush I.....
    standin above the crowd
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
    eager to identify with
    someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way

We are supposed to see it under SOME conditions ... For example, when spuriously associating Obama with a massive propensity to work change, or when acting as an apologist for Islamic fundamentalism ("Its 'cause they're BROWN ...") ... Didn't you get the memo?

You really think that's the reason Ed supports him?

Of course it is, wasn't Ed a hard core Clarence Thomas supporter?
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

hahaha...how sad, but probably true! :p
seriously, they make a total DISASTER of things....get voted out, someone else comes in, deals with the mess, hopefully gets the country back on track...and then bam, they come back and mess up the sandbox again. just thinking pre/post clinton years. certainly not saying he was an 'ideal'....but i DO believe he did a lot for this country, and then yea...look where we are today. :(

that said, was NO one in this forum at the DC show? and/or listened to the boot? it was fantastic to hear ed speak, even so briefly, with such HOPE. :)
