IF Obama becomes President and I say IF, I can foresee a ton of race related post going on for days in our future. Just the thing Obama would rather NOT see this board and this country head into as we go forward.

A nation divided will never heal itself and will crumble into dust.

I wouldn't doubt they were hired by the McCain campaign so that Obama's victory could be challenged.

Philly is a shithole. Sorry, but it is. I am not surprised by any of this.

Come on........ I work in Atlantic City everyday. I know what I see. My good friend is a cop there and he tells me all the time about the total bullshit that happens there. Dont tell me that the majority of minorities are hard working people, if that was the case then why does Obama want to create more programs? Why does evry0ne want goverment help? Democrats want more and more programs for minorities. I am doing fine now, but in my early twenties I lived on water and baked potatoes. I had NO money. What did I do? Not go on a program....I worked three jobs. I busted my ass and I still do to have nice things. Everyoe thinks they work hard but in reality they are just average.
I know I sound mean and you all hate me but I dont believe in this program bullshit for just anyone who wants it. Single mothers..yes, they need help. The elderly..yes, completely normal single men, I am not so sure. If you have special needs then you need help but for the average person that is a minority that has no ailments, get a freaking job.
I would never ever take gov. handouts if I could help it. And many can help it but they choose to take the easy way out and take whatever is in front of them.
I am sorry if I offend you. I really mean that. I respect you and I think you are a very smart woman but this is how I feel.

Here is the reason your post offends me, because you state that minorities expect handouts. Do you even realize how many poor white people are on government programs? You probably don't because you open your mouth without even thinking first or even having the basic understanding of the issues. So you work in Atlantic City and see a lot of poor black people so I guess that makes you qualified to make the assumption that they and us hispanics are just a bunch of fucking freeloaders. Ignorance is not strong enough of word to accurately characterize your statements.

I agree that an able bodied person should not be feeding off the system but unfortunately sometimes people need help and the majority of people receiving aid do need it, of course you have those that take advantage of the system and they should be dealt with individually. You should punish the innocent just to get to the guilty.

Lastly, and I know I have schooled you in this before, this is not a race issue but one of poor education, unstable homes and loss of hope. If you drive through rural Appalachia in West Virginia and Kentucky you will see poverty unrivaled in most parts of this country. these people have nothing. Shitty education, no jobs, no hope of bettering themselves and they depend on government aid, but guess what they are mostly white. They share the same circumstances as the black or hispanic kid growing up in the ghetto in Camden. My girlfriend lived up in upstate NY in Northville. Most of the people up there where on some form of welfare and there wasn't a single black/hispanic person for miles.

People need to stop looking at this as a race issue and start looking at it for what it really is, a system wide failure. A failure to keep jobs from moving over seas and a failure of our educational system. The white kid born and raised in rural Appalacia and the black kid born and raised in Camden have the same disadvantage. It doesn't matter what the fucking color of their skin is. They are probably both born into a low income, single parent (who may or may not have a high school diploma), poor educational system area of the country. There are no jobs or at least no good paying jobs anywhere near them. they are born with the projection that they will never succeed. Once we start seeing this them we can fix the problem. It's like an alcoholic, he/she can't fix the problem until they realize what the problem is.
