Figured id start a presidential thread on this cold friday evening

1. Andrew Jackson- He just personifies that southern ruggedness in my opinion. And he was a complete bad ass.

2> Teddy Roosevelt- The man did everything. Historian, hunter, philianthropist, sportsman.

3. Ronald Reagan- From hollywood actor to president extraordinare. Can you say Soviet Union anyone?
America...the greatest Country in the world.

    Franklin D. Roosevelt
    Thomas Jefferson
    George Washington

Miller, I couldn't be less surprised at your choice of Jackson, who I consider to be one of our very worst presidents, not to mention a despicable human being.

funny how when an actor talks politics you rant about how he's just a dumb actor who doesnt know shit and should keep his mouth shut (tim robbins), but when an actor talks politics you praise him and call him one of the nation's finest leaders (reagan).

somehow, im not surprised by your list. at least dubya isn't on there though.
  • Much how Clinton gets too much credit for booming 90's economy. Reagan gets too much credit for the demise of communism. The collapse of an already crumbling, failing country had little to do w/ Reagan.

    1 b. TR

    3. James Polk
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

I'm surprised at your choices hippiemom, given that you chose two slave holders, three racists, and one guy who locked up a bunch of japs. and you actually ADMIRE these people? why?

    I really only Like Lincoln...

Bush did a masterful job when Iraq invaded Kuwait. He provided great leadership at a dangerous time and treated war and our troops with the respect they deserve. Otherwise he was just another politician.

Regan was interesting - accomplished alot. the world has gotten very complicated.. it seems we've given up on integrity.

I don't know if we'll every have another good president. good human qualities do not do well in today's political environment.

the question wasn't who are the most irrelvent presidents.

the critics are all you have to point to. W will go down with Lincoln and TR as one of the best presidents because they are innovative and confident. they don't care about being liked (clinton), they know what's right, and do what's right.

Kenedy knew what was right and did what was right.

Clinton was better than George W

And Carter did quite alot to stabilise things after Johnson and Nixon and the imperial presidency. Carter was pretty inexperienced but I think he did a great job.

JFK has much more in common with George W than he does with Clinton.

if you're seriously going to defend carter...dude, devise a different strategy.

Again, George W has beliefs, and governs by them. I appreciate that rather than someone searching for a legacy...and history will prove me right.

Thre are about 10 million reasons why he will never be considered the best. More likely the bottom 3 if not the worst.

If you can't see that by now you never will. It is either a Jedi mind trick or blind faith.

You admire him? That is something I can not understand. He is basically in a battle with most of America.

yeah, unfortunately there are lots of things that people like me understand that people like you don't. read, and pay attention. that's my only advice.

Well how about the fact that it is probably not George W that you admire but more like Dick Cheney. Cheney makes the hard decisions and has more pull, despite being the Vice pres.

Now what was that about making hard decisions for America, this guy can't even stand over his own Vice pres.

He is nothing more than a puupet being lead around by an evil mob.

In time he and this administration will be exposed as one of the worst ever!

dubya will go down with lbj as one of our most disgraced presidents. someone who had a change to take this country in a bold new direction and completely fucked it up by dragging us into a pointless war with no end instead.
