soul I agree with what you are saying. However, it is my understanding that her mother was the one who "outed" her and I believe her mother did this to help repair her image in the media after the producer of the movie she was working on called her out for being constantly late to the production. Call me cynical but I really do believe she is doing this to repair her image.

then why didnt she send out a press release? why wasnt her agent shouting it form the rooftops? maybe she went becos she realized it was starting to affect her reputation and ability to work in her field, but that doesnt make it opportunistic. i finally went to rehab for similar reasons.

if she had made this public, i might agree with you. but this is a very rare case where there was no publicity. the only reason we know is becos the papparazzi followed her. part of sobering up is cleaning up your image and proving that you've changed. you cant beat addiction without that part. you want her to quit doing drugs but somehow still maintain a reputation as a wild party girl?

Lindsay’s mother broke the news on the KIIS FM radio show in Los Angeles with Ryan Seacrest. Although AA is usually a personal matter, her mother told Seacrest “It's true, a lot of people she hangs out with go and it's a positive thing."

I hope this to be true

I just did a quick search (I never thought I would be searching about her) and you are right. goddamn NY Post

I agree. I could give 2 shits about her but if this helps and if she can lower her profile for a couple years perhaps she will become the actor everybody thinks she can be

yes, she's lucky. i wouldnt give my upbringing for hers for any money in the world. she gets drunk and creates a scene at a bar. im guessing you NEVER did that before age 20 did you? im sure you never drank at all and never had too much and got a little obnoxious? well guess what, she's normal and did what all the rest of us did. the difference was she had tv cameras to broadcast her every mistake to the world for criticism. im sure you never did a single stupid thing between the ages of 14 and 20, but most of the rest of us normal people did, we just didnt have the misfortune of having it shown to the entire world and plastered on every newspaper cover in the world.

she made some mistakes, as teens are wont to do. but that does not justify the cruelty some arrogant and pretentious pricks around here like to throw at her. i said this before she went into rehab when people were ripping her for hosting snl while pj was on. she's not the anti-christ. she's trying to grow up while the entire world scrutinizes her every move. that isn't easy. we should be glad she's trying to reign in her poor behavior. i think all of us would prefer that to having another courtney love.

I understand that I must come across as a tad heartless on this issue. But I don't care. I just can't see how these ultra rich types deserve sympathy when they happen to find themselves drinking a few beers every day, or snorting coke, or whatever. Shiiit. Get the fuck over yourselves, is my advice to these people. Take a holiday to the Bahamas. Take up yoga.
I just get the impression that visiting a rehab clinic from time to time is simply a 'chic', 'hip' thing to do for people with too much money and not enough balls. Fuck her! Where was my rehab clinic when I was growing up? - I still am growing up by the way. Not that I would have attended one if one had been available. Part of growing up is learning how to deal with this stuff on your own. Having a membership to a rehab clinic is nothing but a rich persons fashion accessory, not too different from pretending an interest in Cabbalism, sporting henna tattoo's, adopting a foreign child, or walking down the street with a fucking Chihuahua dog on a lead. Fuck these people!

I wonder why people in this thread are so bent on objectifying this girl. She's a human being. Usually people objectify another when they objectify their own selves and can't see past it.

She has feelings, hurts, problems. She has a dysfunctional family that openly acts out. She's got a serious problem and is looking for help. She's owning her own problem. One has to be quite numb in order to overlook these issues in order to look down from "above" at her.

Don't worry about it. She's not gonna read this.

I really, really disagree about clumping rehab in with that other bullshit. I think most people here know someone who's needed real help in overcoming an addiction. And don't forget were it not for rehab we may have never had Mad Season and we may not have still had Mike.

O.k, I admit that I'm wrong to paint everyone who has attended rehab with the same brush.
I think what I'm trying to get at is that I don't have much respect for ultra-rich types like Robbie Williams who go out drinking for a few days and then act like they're on deaths doorstep and expect everyone to reagrd them as some sort of tragic artist on deaths doorstep.

you dont know the first thing about any of this do you? you dont get a "membership" in a rehab clinic, it's not like a gym. you check in. it's like a hospital, or a mental institution, not a country club. second, AA is not like rehab. you go to meetings for the rest of your life. you dont just go to dabble and "get away from it all." it's more like a religion than anything else. third, there are people out there who can't "learn how to deal with this stuff on your own." would you tell a diabetic that they need to learn how to not die when they eat sugar? would you tell someone with a peanut allergy that they should suck it up, quit whining, and learn to eat peanuts without it killing them? that's how alcohol affects an alcoholic. they have a different response to it than other people. it's more than a few beers every day.

would you feel this way if your dirt poor brother said he was going to AA? would you tell him he's a fucking pussy and a piece of shit and he needs to suck it up? what does income matter on this issue? do you think poor people can become alcoholics? then why not rich people?

you clearly have some issues. im sorry you live in the trailer park and the rich kids made fun of you for wearing dickies growing up and made your life so hard, but you know what... suck it up and get the fuck over yourself. i hope you get that membership next time you apply to the wonderfully stylish rehab clinic you crave so badly. then maybe you can fit in and stop feeling sorry for yourself and resenting everyone who has more than you. cos it makes you look like a pathetic and whiny little adolescent. lohan's got more character in her little finger than an ignorant prick like you.

i dont know who robbie williams is. but lohan has not done this. ill agree, i dont like people who play rehab for image becos it cheapens what those of us who truly struggle with addiction go through. it forces us to have to deal with ignorant people like you to defend it.

No. I'd tell them to get drunk and forget all about peanuts.

way to not have to respond to any of my points and admit that you dont know jack shit about this stuff.
  • Yo.

I watched Mean Girls the other night and thought it was pretty good. I'm serious, it was pretty funny.

Celebrities-- they're people too. Maybe she did need rehab, maybe she didn't. Money isn't everything, so yeah, I feel bad for people like her whether they have a problem or not.

I partied pretty hard when I was 20, alcohol in particular, so I don't think her age is that shocking. A lot of people are gettin fucked up 4 or 5 times a week at that age. You gotta admit, if you were a rock star / movie star, it'd probably be pretty tough to avoid that kind of lifestyle at any age.

Either way, you still gotta wonder, these people are goin out a few times a week and gettin hammered (because they can) and cameras are watching their every move. How would you look in the same scenario? You don't even have to be a full-on alcoholic to look like a moron on camera, especially when drinking. I know I've had my moments where I would have looked like a jerk. Shit, maybe celebrities fuck with the paparazzi... I could imagine having some fun with them. Anyway the media feeds on it all, whatever REALLY happens. I feel bad for Lohan. I hope she gets better.

...and makes a sequel to Mean Girls.
