Something is wrong when a 20 year old has to check into AA. SHe cant even drink legally yet! Skanks like lindsay lohan are part of the problem with america today imo.

After weeks of speculations, the 20-year-old actress’ mother, Dina Lohan confirmed the rumors despite AA’s privacy policy.

“It’s true,” Dina told Ryan Seacrest’s morning show on KIIS FM radio in Los Angeles. “A lot of people she hangs out with go and it’s a positive thing.”

While with her 12-year-old daughter Ali who was promoting her Christmas album, she answered several questions regarding her older child. When asked if she is still giving advice to Lindsay, she said her daughter is actually doing fine and doesn’t need her advice anymore.

“As a parent you tell them what you can tell them, but she’s 20 and I’m not gonna say stay home and don’t go out,” she told the KIIS host. “That’s a ridiculous thing to do. When you’re 20 you have to learn a lot on your own so I’m there for support and I’ll obviously give her my opinion, but she’s fine. She’s OK.”

Leslie Sloane, Lohan’s publicist strengthen Dina Lohan’s statement saying "Yes, she's been attending some meetings, and it's going to be a slow process. This is a positive. Let's hope that the press doesn't turn it into a negative."

Speaking on Lohan’s behalf, she asked the media to stay out of it and quit following Lindsay to and from gatherings. She was spotted going into an AA meeting in Los Angeles at 7.30am on Wednesday, November 29.

"Maybe if (the press) backs off on her she'll be in a good space," she added. "Let's see if we don't have to hear about it every day, and they're following her and trying to find her. Because that will just really not be good."

A close friend of Lohan’s said she has been attending the meeting for a while and kept silent about it hoping to cure herself.

"She has attended several meetings and has hopefully decided to turn her life around - this time for good. She is out of control," her friend told the New York Post newspaper.

According to her friend, Lohan avoided spending her Thanksgiving Day with her family fearing “someone would force an intervention on her."

With a bit of luck, the young starlet is getting all the help she needs. Her family is apparently anxious that "she will really get serious about getting sober. And drop out of the limelight for a while.

Good thing you're keeping up on Lohan. How old are you geek? I mean give me a fucking break keeping tabs on some twenty something loser. I bet you are big Paris Hilton fan too. Good thing we have you too keep us informed about all these talent less losers. Sorry if I offended your favorite stars.

You're a judgemental lot! Drew Barrymore was in the same boat when she was even younger but seemed to turn out one the nicer hollywood stars. The girls 20 for God sake. I think her movies are pretty good and she's does a better job singing than Paris and the rest. Whenever I've seen her interviewed she been entertaining. A 20 year old drinking too much make the news mmmmm.......I could of been a superstar!!!!
I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!
  • how christian of you. i hope your mother gets cancer. then i can say your grandparents should have beaten her more so she'd learned to take better care of herself.

Something is wrong when you are following the news on this girl. Also, as far as you guys commenting on how she got there and who is to blame, who cares? If she needs help, she needs help. And it is not cool to dissect it--what if it was you who needed help? Would you like it if people were passing judgement on you from 1,000 miles away (figuratively and literally)?

  • I saw that story on E this weekend and the sad part is that she's a pretty good actress. The critics loved her performance in Bobby and I thought she was was great in Prairie Home Companion.

I hope she gets herself together before she ruins her entire career.

I think the drinking age in the United States is also a part of the problem.

except she didnt publicize it. she didnt say anything abotu it. and she wasnt forced in by legal trouble with a big PR release saying she was checking in. she just started going and the tabloids followed her and broke the story. it's kinda sad. part of AA is keeping things anonymous. the storm of attention she's getting for it is going to hurt not only her, but other people who go. it's sad. leave the poor girl alone and let her work on herself in peace.

yes, 21 is a RIDICULOUS age........way too old, and it only encourages teenagers to experiment more

i mean, u graduate high school in USA at 18.........AND CANT GO TO A FUCKEN PUB FOR ANOTHER 3 YEARS! crazy.......

in Oz the legal age is 18, which is perfect.....a lot of teenage drinking still happens, but thats only natural i think

tho we are viewed as by a lot of other nations as a boozy country :)

yeah we learned how to drink when we were really young.. there were a couple of my friends parents who made them wait till they were 18 and they are the ones that are the alcoholics and the ones that can't handle themselves in public places when they've had like 4 or 5 drinks

what kinda parenting is that? get your kids drunk with you and teach them while their young so they don't turn into rebellious crazy asshole drunks

then there's jim morisson, janis joplin, jimi hendrix, kurt cobain, layne staley, hillel slovak, keith moon, john bonham, etc etc. lohan's far from the first musical star to struggle with the pressure of being famous. it's killed many. im glad she caught it before it was too late.

Wow, can't believe you put Lindsay in a group with these musicians/icons. This is why Lindsay Lohan is a piece of shit... she is mediocre at best as an actress or musician/singer. It's her unaplogetic, partying lifestyle and attention-craving antics like flashing the paparazi that fuels her stardom. She's just like Paris Hilton.... a person who glamorizes a decadant lifestyle that is a slap in the face to pretty much everyone on earth - even Americans! And the media just eat it up and promote it as much as they can. It's like a fucking industry the money that is made from everybody pouncing on a young, impressionable starlet like Lohan. She still needs to take responsibility for her own actions, but no doubt there is a lack of positive influence in her life.

Ya, I agree. I think blaming the alcohol or drugs is over-used by celebrities or poloticians a lot to deflect the blame of what else they were caught doing. In Lohan's case though, aside from some stupid tabloid stuff, it doesn't seem like she sought help to try to get out of trouble, moreso to help herself. I have no problem with what she was doing.

there's NO EXCUSE for her to be an alcoholic at her age. pathetic. talk about a lack of parenting. just another hollywood spoiled brat.

What were you doing at 20 years old? I drank A LOT more in highschool and college before I was 21, then probably after. I came from great parents and a great home, but my friends and I drank a lot (like most kids do). I am just lucky that I am not prone to addiction, or I would have been in the same boat as her.

how is this not taking responsibility for her life? she quietly slows her life down and starts going to AA to recover from her problems, and people like you and miller give her hell about it. admit it, you dont WANT her to stop doing what she's doing, becos she allows you a target to point and and feel holier-than-thou and moan about how decadent american has become. you dont want her to get better, you want to make an example of her.

drug problems are nothing new. she was 12 or so in her first movie, she has been in the spotlight her entire life. think of how emotionally confused and fucked up you were growing up in hs. it's a turbulent time. we all act out. she just had the mixed blessing of having to do it with cameras capturing her every act. now she's trying to get better and grow up, and you people STILL wont cut the girl some slack. if she's being bad, she's a whore. when she's trying to get better, she's still evil incarnate.

    get off your high horse.
