maybe not that exact figure but i'm sure i could highlight the massive numerical difference between gun incidents in the US -v- the UK.. thats one story about guns from the UK that he's posted

today in america approx 300+ people will die as a result of a gun...

the murder rate is some 25-30 times higher than in the UK... PER CAPITA

who read the fucking Sun website anyway :D:D
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

"Britain's Gun Laws Seen as Curbing Attacks"

But the problem is that while anti-gun activists recited those talking points in Post foreign service correspondent Mary Jordan's April 24 story, the empirical evidence shows otherwise.

The number of crimes in which a handgun was used in England and Wales has risen from 299 in 1995 to 1,024 last year. Offenses committed with all types of firearms, including air guns, have also increased.

That's an increase of 725 gun crimes in 11 years, a 242 percent increase.

The bad news is that we have a higher level of crime per capita than most of our European neighbours and higher than America...

According to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Britain's rate of assault, robbery, and burglary now exceed those in the United States...
BBC News reported "a dramatic rise in violent crime from 1998 to the present."? Relying on statistics from the British Office of Home Affairs, crime in England and Wales this year is at epidemic levels, 60% higher, per capita, than in the U.S.

    perhaps America should ban idiocy
Wow, you really took that to heart! I knew there was going to be someone to get overly-defensive over this article, but I hope the majority of us can see the irony of it.........."video games and violence".......it would be hard to argue that the video game console didn't directly relate to violence in this situation, lol. And 1 person gets shot..............one person gets stabbed........over a fucking video game console....................and it happened in the UK! I did find it to be a pretty stupid statement when they said that this is expected in the US. This is no more expected in the US than busses blowing up are over there, if you want to go that route..........................It's that argument of the blind, "this stuff doesn't happen to people like us"................well, evidently it does..............so let's ban the XBOX, rabble rabble rabble.
Edit: The link to the story was on http://www.fark.com so a lot of people will be reading the Sun, lol

i dont know why you are posting me different articles that bear no relation to the topic at hand.

I havent argued that our crime rates arent high, or we have no violent crime or anything of that nature.

all i've stated was that for every GUN incident that happens in the UK i could post you X number of similar news stories from the US that far outweighs those gun incidents in the UK

since we (scotland) banned handguns after the Dunblane incident there has not been anyone killed by a handgun since 1997 in Scotland... and before the ban we had murders/accidents/deaths etc...

again i'm not arguing about violent crime or any of the links you posted above

Violent crime is violent crime. Somehow in your arguments you seem to be suggesting that violent crime is caused by guns, I swear you do: you don't make a differentiation.

If I'm wrong about this observation, prove it. And don't edit your posts in this thread.

I'd say this is 100% spot on. ...

so stay in bloody scottland then. who do you think you are trying to change the laws of a country you don't live in and may not have even visited? you spew the gospel according to dunkman and talk about disarming the innocent yet there's no working plan. every thing you've ever said [about the subject] since i've been here has been to arm criminals and leave the innocent defenceless. so that's your plan then? maybe it works in a piss-ass little country but america is a lot different. we have illegal guns coming over the border every day. the purpose is to arm criminals. we're a young country and remember fighting for our freedom several times. each time it wasn't the military that won the wars; it was armed citizens that fought for their freedom and country.
if it's so easy; come over and try to take an american's gun away.

I got it covered. You're not helping.

I have to ask you something.

I saw where you said something about selling Native American's buffalo toes. What the fuck are buffalo toes, and can I get a buffalo thumb?

i value the lives of innocents... especially the 50+ children who are killed each week in america by a gun accident... international borders dont block compassion

if it's so easy; come over and try to take an american's gun away.

take the bullets out of them and it'll be a piece of piss... then when your done trying to act like some fucking hardman hero i'll gladly kick your arse and take the gun off you

It's not his "belief". He wants me to search the friggen thread and prove my point.

    I will.

    Not today.

    Then again:

the usage of "the dark side"

compels me to believe that dunkman is "strong on this one"

pertaining to things only buffaloes know.

Which is rather unsual for a Scotsman.

he's accused me of something... now he needs to back it up.

nowhere in this thread have i suggested that violent crime is caused by guns... i might have suggested death and murder is caused by guns.

violent crime is a whole other 'field' which encompasses rape, assault, stabbings, baseball bat to the face, etc etc
