Ok, it's pretty clear that you've completely lost touch with reality now, so I'm going to let this go. It's been a hoot :D

and of course, you are the only person spouting reality, so I will let it go too. Obviously you made excellent points and are omnipotent. Plus you live in reality, where its okay to tell me that blacks dont listen to rock music

Tell me where you DIDNT say blacks dont get to be frontmen in rock bands, because they dont play it.

TELL ME WHERE YOU DIDNT say it. Its splashed all over the page.

    Who's racist now?

I am a person who believes blacks listen to all kinds of music and dont just listen to hip hop or jazz. But of course, I dont live in reality right hippiemom!

please see your above posts and tell me how you arent hypocritical by suggesting I was out of line but you arent. I admit i flew off the handle, but its not like you are sitting there passively.

    Who's racist now?

You implied that blacks dont play rock music!
    Read your post.

If only blacks were more into playing that godly rock and roll that white rock and roll and not playing that god awful hip hop!

So you really think the fact that very few black frontmen in rock is due to the fact blacks dont play rock music?

    Thats flat out racist!

damn dude... what did you do? start drinking after i ran circles around you in the other thread? you have lost your godamn mind!

and racism wouldnt have anything to do with the fact that most of the top rock acts are white right?

I mean its not the bands fault, its the record labels fault and such.

Its the people who sign bands fault.

You dont think the lack of black acts in country music has to do with racism?

I would never imply blacks only play one type of music, or are only hip hop fans, yet you seemed to do that/

Again, hippiemom please repeat what you said to a gathering of african americans, and see how they react.

"oh yeah, I feel blacks arent into rock and dont play it, thats why there are no black frontmen"!!

    What a bunch of poppycock
Oh god, this is just too good ... I'm weak, I can't stay away :D

Please show me where I said blacks only play one type of music ... quote me, if you would be so kind. Because I just re-read my post, and my reading comprehension is pretty good. What I saw was me telling you that I owned many albums by black artists in many different genres, and that I had just finished listening to two bands fronted by black men.

I'll be thinking of you when I see Ben Harper in June :D

  • read hippiemom's excerpts.

She said that she felt their wasnt black frontmen in rock, because they dont play that type of music, or arent into that type of music,

I am straight edge, and am very clear thinking.

She said it and even was dumb enough to post it.

i read those excerpts. they didnt say anything like that. i think you need to log off man. then go to the nearest bar and drink some jameson's whiskey. if you're not of age, get some grass. maybe the straight edge IS the problem, cos you need to relax. then, once you've cooled your impotence-inducing rage, talk to a girl. and i dont mean rant to her about political shit. i mean talk to her. tell her she's pretty and ask about her, not tell her about you and your thoughts. then take her home and fuck her brains out. becos you, sir, REALLY need to get laid.

And in the land of reality, Hippiemom is right. Obviously though you don't live in reality, otherwise you could be reasoned with. Instead you build this wall of guilt that does not allow you to reason. You do realize that even your heroes in Pearl Jam would disagree with you. How does that make you feel?

P.S. You are white. So freaking white.
  • quote from hippiemom

There are certainly plenty of opportunities for black people in the music world today ... if few of them have chosen to play the sort of music that I enjoy, that's their prerogative.

as I said, its those stupid blacks who arent taking advantage of the opportunities given them.

I mean, why dont they play some rock music? Instead of that rap racket crap.

    Essentially thats what you said

it's says nothing like that. first, it doesn't say no blacks can play rock, it says few choose to. second, it doesn't say anything about how they should play rock music or rap is bad, just that she prefers listening to rock music. did they REALLY give you a degree?

Again, putting words into my mouth. Where did I make a single mention of rap music? I don't happen to enjoy it, but I don't think it's crap ... it's simply not to my taste. I don't enjoy the opera either ... do you automatically assume that I think it's crap because I don't listen to it? Or is this just your racial stereotyping getting in the way of common sense, yet again?

Hey whitey, your hero Dave Chappelle had a whole skit blatantly making fun of John Mayer playing guitar and how the majority of black people don't like that music. But obviously you know more than Dave Chappelle about black culture. You are white, so you are smarter than Dave Chappelle I guess? Is that why?

    Are you high or something.

Why would you post and then act like I am racist and even call me racist, then be as stupid as to post something racist aboout yourself.

For the record, if you think it isnt an uphill battle for an allblack rock group to get signed or be successful, you might want to call nurse ratchet

Dont call me racist. expecially if your comments are way more racist than anything I said.

I posted statements about blacks and whites and said who is more oppressed. I never said all blacks were one thing or all whites were one thing. Thats not me

On the other hand Hippiemom posts some silly trash that rock music isnt more accepting of blacks because THEY DONT PLAY IT or GRAVITATE TOWARD ROCK

Give me a king sized break

Thats a Bo Diddely and Chuck Berry break, not elvis break

And you didnt do the same to me.

I have been called many things in my life, commie, radical, freak, hippie, socialist, anarchist

but being called a racist, when clearly I feel that whites are indeed the devil and that blacks are the victim of oppression and racist hierarchy.

What planet are you living on.

I am an antiracist activist, whose heroes include Malcolm X, MLK, Garvey, and others.

I dont know too many racists with Malcolm X posters on their walls
  • dont presume you know me, and dont tell me how I feel. I will tell you that hippiemom.

50 things I as a white male are given AUTOMATICALLY!!

Well, you've been caught. In your FIRST post in this thread, you made a list of 50 items that white people are born with AUTOMATICALLY! That means you think EVERY white person is born with those 50 qualities (no matter what situation they are born into).

our discussion was of rock music and who deserved the title of king of rock and roll.

So obviously you were suggesting that rock didnt have more black musicians, because blacks dont play that type of music.

    *sigh*

I did not call you a racist. I said that you made liberal use of racial stereotypes. You didn't say that all blacks were one thing and all whites the other, but every single one of your examples portrayed blacks as poor and uneducated, and whites as wealthy Ivy Leaguers. That's you talking, not me.

As to my comments on music, I said that few of today's black musicians have chosen to play the type of music that I enjoy, and that is true. I don't see them having a tremendously difficult time breaking into the music industry though. It is YOUR value judgment that led you to conclude that being a rock artist is somehow "better" than being a rap artist. I never said any such thing, because I don't believe that to be true.

Oh, and by the way ... if I ever feel like calling you a racist, I will. Don't try to tell me what I can and can't post. I will post whatever I like.

Wow you caught me, by saying that, I did indeed say that all blacks are poor and live in the ghetto and all whites drive BMW's and are rich and are ivy leaugers.

Yep just by saying that quote you posted above?

    Are you high?

Where in the list of 50 does it say ALL WHITES or ALL BLACKS and more important where does it day in my posts that ALL BLACKS are poor and ALL WHITES are rich.

If your going to post please give some evidence. I hate being misquoted. Especially when people are too stupid or lazy to do research.

Hahaha ... obviously I admit what I posted, I'm the one who copied and pasted it here! Would I have done that if I were ashamed of it? I will leave it to our fellow board members to discern for themselves what I meant, confident in the belief that their reading skills are vastly superior to yours.

You are the one consumed with color. Hippiemom thought Elvis was the king of rock. She did not say, "Elvis, the white guy, is the king of rock." That is what you inferred, because you can only see color. When you look at Chuck Berry, you see a black man, while I think Hippiemom sees a musician. When you see Elvis, you see a white man. This is all very obvious based on the arguments you are making and turning a simple discussion about music into a race issue.

Maybe cause its all white and hooded and included burning crosses, lynching and castration!

Dont tell me your not racist if you are indeed a racist. Own up to it. Is good to admit things.
