    The nation was founded on the genocide of the native Americans. There weren't any Christian principles involved. There was just greed and lies, murder and treachery involved. If that qualifies as 'Christian' in your book, then great.

    i thought genocide refers to killing a fuckload of people. people with some common culture, ethnicity, etc.

    i dont think you have to kill ALL of them

    Depends if you intend to take the land, or if you intend to wipe out an entire race. The holocaust for example, was a genocide, Rwanda, genocide, Armenia, genocide.

    with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group;

    definitions vary.

    When you conspire to, set in motion and go about killing specific people based on their ethnicity or religious loyalties; you are commiting genocide the very second a second individual is murdered in the act following that inititive.

    But it is important to note that many Native Americans also died from epidemic disease. Whether or not small pox was deliberetly inleashed on the Native Americans, remains a subject matter of much debate. There seems to be some evidence that at least in some cases, it was deliberate. While other cases appear to be a result of Europeans and their cattle.

    That may or may not have been the initial intention early on. But it is rather clear that at some point certain individuals and "organizations" felt that a large Native American poplution would always pose a serious threat to the settlers, corporate interests and government operations. So reducing the Native American poplulation by a very large percentage, became not only a concept and plan; but also, ironically; their war cry.
