    What? Please rephrase your question.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire

the nation was founded with Christian principles...it's true

he prefers what he prefers, what's the problem?

The nation was founded on the genocide of the native Americans. There weren't any Christian principles involved. There was just greed and lies, murder and treachery involved. If that qualifies as 'Christian' in your book, then great.

    on the Christian stuff...

i'd rather follow a "practicing" Christian than anyone else..they would speak the truth, with candor etc....

problem is, when they do, people hammer them.

What? Like Jerry Falwell for example?
You'd probably be happy to have a President who waged war on the 'gay Teletubbies', wouldn't ya?

I think genocide refers to intent.

Depends if you intend to take the land, or if you intend to wipe out an entire race. The holocaust for example, was a genocide, Rwanda, genocide, Armenia, genocide.

    with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group;

    definitions vary.

    No, incorrect.

When you conspire to, set in motion and go about killing specific people based on their ethnicity or religious loyalties; you are commiting genocide the very second a second individual is murdered in the act following that inititive.

But it is important to note that many Native Americans also died from epidemic disease. Whether or not small pox was deliberetly inleashed on the Native Americans, remains a subject matter of much debate. There seems to be some evidence that at least in some cases, it was deliberate. While other cases appear to be a result of Europeans and their cattle.

the young american country went to war with Indians to capture and own the land they lived on. not exterminate them

That may or may not have been the initial intention early on. But it is rather clear that at some point certain individuals and "organizations" felt that a large Native American poplution would always pose a serious threat to the settlers, corporate interests and government operations. So reducing the Native American poplulation by a very large percentage, became not only a concept and plan; but also, ironically; their war cry.

No. They need to step up to the plate too and respect their fellow man. Besides the stigmatization common amongst non-Native people, there isn't much we can do to help Natives accept the reality of modern life. Some resolutions like reparations are not only ridiculous, they are also implausible.

I've been told that if the white man (me) would just live like the native man, then life would be peachy. This is in contrast to what I whitnessed this afternoon. Which was a vehicle full of native canadians tossing garbage out of their window. It seems natives are brought up to resent white man, and to externalize their problems rather than take ownership. This is not true for all natives of course, a few of my native friends do not share this paradigm.
