    I agree with their levels of experience, and I wish the whole "experience" argument was off the table now, because it doesn't really work for either side.

    But the one difference to me between the two, is that Obama was voted on by the public after a looooonnnnnnggggg primary campaign to get to where he is. Sure he has some negatives, but the voting public apparently feel that the positives outweigh the negatives. Palin on the other hand was selected by one person (or a small group of people) to get where she is nationally.

    But I guess in the end that it's up to the voters to either accept her or reject her as part of the ticket.

    i understand your point about the primaries vs vp pick. on the other hand, do you not think obama was fast-tracked to the upper echelon of the party in large part because of his, um, aesthetic qualities? he didn't get to where he is based on some grass-roots movement. he had long-term DNC help. they've been working on making him a rock star for 5 years or more...
